I've done all but Black Bear. In fact, last year at this time (4th of July) I just got off a 4 day backpack trip and was staying in Telluride. Helluva place....

Which we had the snow down here in Yuma.

the front part of black bear was plowed, but that was it, so we drove up to top and had to stop. poughgipsie (sp) gulch was doable until the very end due to snow also, there was alot of water on the gulch trail, but most of the road were very dusty. hopefully they should start getting monssons soon like us. was a good trip, tried to hook up with the farmington guys on sunday but missed them, so we went riding near choke cherry canyon instead.

yeah its 105.4 degrees in my work stall right now, thats with two swamp coolers going!!

Cool pics, awesome landscape up there. I also have to acknowledge the mass of poser shots by the Taco. It seems that 1/2 the pics are of the "let me drive onto this bank(usually it's a rock)" variety. That's all the hate I have for now.:D Although seeing a dented rocker on an 07 Taco is a good thing:saw:

yes they are definitly poser shots, i wasnt driving, the guy that owns the truck is very new to wheeling and is from ohio, then moved straight to az, hes never seen mountains like that, he was in awe the whole time

I can probably swing some really cheap (for you and Patty)(even cheaper if I go) condo time at the base of Purgatory. Granted, it's a smidge south of all the trail areas, but cheap is cheap. I'm all allocated for vacation time this year. But if you guys want to go, let me know and I'll see what I can do. By next year I should have some property by Silverton or possibly over north of Cortez, or both.

Sorry we missed each other BOVADS.

Got some descent wheelin in myself. Silverton/Ouray/Telleride area is amazing....awesome wheelin, awesome fishing. Great sand dunes/medano pass was different, like being at the beach-without the stink:rolleyes:.
Houses in Ouray are crazy, I saw a ~1800SF for 479K-and a main street business for 945K.... I`d think durango, or pagosa springs would we nice places to live, small but not too small-and good bang for the buck real estate-wise.

Hit a place in farmington for alittle while, right off highway-just out of town.

id move back to durango in a second if i could get a good job and find a house for reasonable money. the only problem the ford dealer in that town is run by a guy i went to high school with, didnt like him then, dont like him any more now.
!!the average house in telluride is 1.2M$!!:eek:
farmington is ok, but desert like here with less job opertunity. buddy just bought i nice house there failrly new for 218K$. i talked to ford dealer there and they want me, but i dont have the balls yet to take that first step. but if forest issues keep up here, i think im going to have to move. i look foward to camping all the time, but camping isnt camping with out a fire!!:flamethro
