Well here is what your truck will look like after DMZ does their amazing work! It was great, exactly what I pictured! Nothing beats having an idea of what you want in your head, then someone makes it 100% happen!! Here we go, let me know what you think!!
If you want your truck to look like this:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2219.jpg
First you need to do your suspension:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2224.jpg
Guesset spindal, dual shocks, LT, with 4wd. Can you ask for anything more?
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2223.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2215.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2214.jpg
Then get a bumper made with Vision X HID's they are great!!
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2239.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2238.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2213.jpg
Then get a better battery and battery box!
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2222.jpg
Then get Glassworks Unlimited Front and rear:
The rear is custom:

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2228.jpg
Then Get the front Glassworks Unlimited Front fenders. DMZ trimmed them for me:

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2242.jpg
Then get a Intake AFE MAKES THE BEST!
Then you get the still pics:

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e303/ryanmcintosh/Truck/IMG_2217.jpg
Here is some action shots thanks to BROCK!:

Super sweet:kewl:
Hey whats with the custom job on the back of your bedsides? Did glassworks build em like that or did u take a pair of bumper caps and have em glassed in and smoothed out. Looks so clean like that. I asked Tim at glassworks when I bought mine if they could do somewhat the same thing and he said nope...
BRUUUP
07-10-2007, 05:21 PM

Bala de Plata
07-10-2007, 06:30 PM
Ry, did tim at GlassWorks do the custom rear glass? Are they the normal ones trimmed or ?
Reason I ask is that Im getting road blocked on glass for my fenders. Went direct to Tim at Glassworks and he says no for making me a set for my 4runner. F**king pissin me off!!!
Who would have thought the glass would be the hardest thing to get!? :banghead:
venting, back to the regular programing.
ryguy
07-10-2007, 06:36 PM
ya.. well I did a deal with TIM to do that for me.. They are normal glass just customed done. They are glassed in Bumper caps, but smoothed out so you cant really tell. Since I dont have a bumper like anyone else's so I wanted a custom built one.. Tim should help out with this. Ill call him and see whats up for everyone ok??
And for the record!! DONT BE LIKE ME AND CHANGE YOUR MIND 20 TIMES, IT WILL COST YOU MORE IN THE END! LOL
Marnes: Next time Ill stick around when I dont make promises to the wife! Pulling out is easy! lol!! hahah

Mark you don't return my calls anymore :xcrybaby: it's over I've found somebody else LOL!
Hey reason i was asking bout your alignment is the eccentric cam tabs on the lower arm are pretty weak, I know Ryan just got his all gusseted and my driver side ones are so bad (bent flat) I'm gonna just cut off the whole mounting tab and make new ones. Anyway check em out, I guess anybody who's got LT on a new taco should, maybe even those running da hoes'

Haha.. Fiberwerx is great.. but keep in mind of costs.. He needs someone for a mold, but how many LT trucks are there of 4 runners? not knocking ya ;) just keep in mind that his costs might be high.. coolio? That is why Tim probably wont do it, he is concerned about how many units he can sell. The tacoma and fj are hot right now. So he is going to invest alot into it. Its just like the ranger and explorer. Ranger huge, explorer, almost non existant. Anyways.. hope this helps.

After everyone see's how Rory's 4-runner turns out they will be LT'ing theirs. There's a lot of 4x4 4-runners who would love to go LT for a multipurpose trail rig. 1st TC LT kit was on the green 4-runner.
http://www.chaosedition.com/
ryguy
07-10-2007, 09:12 PM
oh its not that.. I love his.. In fact, I think his rides all around better. Its the people that buy 4runners, are they going to LT them? Now rory, dont read too far into this, but the demographics of people purchasing trucks and suv's depends on what people are going to spend money on right? Again lets use the Ranger/explorer for example. How many rangers LT's/ to Explorer LT's?? Same with f150 and expidition, Chevy LT trucks/Tahoe LT, etc... You know what I mean.. Its just the costs for the 4runner are high, no one wants to hack one up for LT sake. Now there are the few that have the dream, but manufactures are going to make products for the majority of people. You will get the guys that will custom things out, it will just cost alot more money.
To some light on all of this.. If fiberwerx is gonna do it, jump all over it!! I would love to have a 1 peice hood ;) Infact rory, if you can talk to them about making fiberglass hoods, Ill buy one!

Hahaha, seriously that was a joke. And if you know me, then you know. And if you dont, oh well.
But yes, completely agreed Ryguy. My rig is not for the majority. The majority of 4runers are driven by soccer moms doing the mall cruise or what have you. But Happy was the first one to point out when I was on a toyota lot the potential of a 4runner over tacoma as I was discussing the details with the salesman for a tacoma.
For me it fits, and I was willing to accept the challenge and costs. There are however the few and dedicated as myself. Theres a little forum over on a place called toyota4runner.org
My rig alone has over 12000 hits on one thread alone. Plus, there are the fewer and more dedicated on 120. They will follow, and with Happy's help. I will lead the way. Many thanks go to Lance who owned the chaos edition and was the succesor to all the new gen taco TC kits.
This is where I will take up where he left off and go to another level :D

Your pretty much right on Ryan as far as high production numbers. It's a shame though cause these 4-runners are so well built. Solid fully boxed frames, nice rigid bodies, available V8, same front a-arm geometry as tacomas and fj's for bolt on kits... it's a crime I tell you seeing these things all droop nosed stock driving around looking like minivans.

haha.. Dont give all the credit to happy, look on a couple posts before, I already said yours will out perform. Its cool cause of the uni body construction rather than the bolt the cab on the rails like all us tacomas. There is stregnth in that design! Just keep in mind like I said and you agreed, dumb people are going to put out kits made for the masses, and not realize that something might be better, only make kits cause everyone in that demographics is going a certain way. Again rory, go to fiberwerx, those guys are great! also get them to do a fiber glass hood for us too!!

What is limiting your uptravel to only 7-8"? It seems to me, if it's bottomed out at 7-8" then when you factor in bumpstops and such, your only talking around 5" of uptravel, and that's not a whole lot. Down travel looks awesome, but you need decent uptravel too. Am I right, or am I way out of whack here?

Well its 7-8 till it hits the bumps.. then another 2-3 with the bumps involved.. Im getting a total of 18+ inches or so of travel.. even with keeping my truck as low as possible.

Youll have to wait.. Its top secret stuff. It allows the springs to be parallel vs offset. The frame actually inst parallel all the way to the back. The frame actually tapers as it goes back.. anyways.. Shortly you'll see a whole build up and a bunch of pics showing shackles etc..

For right now, I told tim to go wild on what ever he wants, so for future plans it depends on what he wants to do.. lol

It looks good, bitchin hangers, shackles and front mounts are all bad ass. off set out side the frame. Frame is almost done being boxed in, and the beds cut for teh vert mounts. He said he wants to knock out 5 or 6 trucks before he puts a kit out
We were chattin about puttin lights on your roof... think we came up with a good plan... said he might sketch something up for you... LOL

I hope so.
ryguy
01-14-2008, 12:01 AM
ok..
racirx: remember working smarter not harder is the way to go.. Dont rob a bank, or else youll never get the truck you wanted.
liftedtacoma: Sure.. if the price is right!! Brakes are now amazing!! It stops on a dime!
AZNPG: Sure I will.. Why not?? I just wont stop anywhere.. lol
Gallium: Yes.. There are things about the 05+ that you have to have custom shackles this way.. Let me explain. The frame tapers in.. If you ran just the same geometry as the 04's and under like with the shackles etc.. from TC your springs will sit duck footed. Therefore IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE TRAVEL THAT IS NEEDED!! Your springs will bind with the 62" LT setup. So... You need custom mounting in order to keep this setup complete. I rode in the Richer Racing truck and it was nice.. Not setup as good as DMZ did for me, but it depends on if you want to maximize your complete travel. Anyways.. Hope this helps.. If I had a extra cab like Chaz's, the ride would be even better.. He just cant take 4 people in his truck lol..

liftedtacoma: Sure.. if the price is right!! Brakes are now amazing!! It stops on a dime!
If I had a extra cab like Chaz's, the ride would be even better.. He just cant take 4 people in his truck lol..
So how much stopping distance did you gain with those bling rotors?
Chaz can fit like 7 dudes from garden grove in his ride, whacha talkin about willis? Are you sayin the USS RYGUY is too long?

LCE also has a set of slotted and drilled rotors price is not bad at all and from what I remember they use factory rotors but not 100% on that. I am not sure if they have them for the 05 + yet though and the cost on them is not bad i think mine were like 60 ea.
Your truck is bad arse I wish I was a bit closer so I could have made some of the meets oh well soon I suppose. Tim does some great work.

Looks really good Ryan.
Have you already reinforced the coil bucket and secondary shock mount? I want to see closeups of that.
Are you runnning a bumpstop up front or just a coilover and bypass?
You should post some closeups of all the fab work on your truck. The exterior is bad ass but the details is what Im looking for.

I know you have a good camera Ryan.
So your running a coilover and bypass w/no custom bumps? I figured you would have had some fabbed up.
So you havent reinforced the coilbucket at all? No need?
Thanks man.

sorry.. not gonna take off my wheel again for another pic.. lol. No bumps.. Not really needed.. Only 13" of travel total..Plus not really any room for a bump either.
The coil bucket is sorta reinforced, with shock hoop.. gonna do a re-inforced engine cage..

There's room. You just have to want it enough.. and start cutting. Air2Air's FJ has what appears to be the same setup (didn't look at your parts specs) and Demello fit a air bump in there.

hmm.. really??? This is sounding good.. I want it enough.. start cutting is inevitable.. Let me check out Air2Air's setup.. you got a link? Its not coming up.

i believe its the same mounting point where the Donahoe FJ put their bump/\. Ask HappySmiley where the exact location is, he knows cause he has the Dirt Sports mag that featured Dhoe's FJ
