I spent the majority of the week helping my friend build a cage in his runner. We have yet to get to the rear passenger area, but here is the front half of the cage. I will update with the rest later if I can rember to take the camera.

Looks good :)
Those front downtubes (near the glovebox) look like good knee bangers

Yea they are further away from the dash and tie in to the floor plates further back than I had hoped. If I ever do it again I will tie everything in further foward. I prolly won't though there just aint much room in a toy for a cage, your either hitting your knees or your head or both.

OK guys here is the back half. It may get more, later, like a X between the back legs, which will be a spare mount, or mabye some through the bedside, type sliders, but for now this is it.

Nice work on the cage, this is something I need to think about in the future.
Also, I just noticed in the pics it looks like hes got an auto, then a gear drive t-case shifter behind it, then a twin stick behind that... whats he running drivetrain wise?

8622re with the factory rebuilt auto(no electronics/holds the selected gear, and no overdrive) inchworm a340 to geardrive adapter, stock geared crawlbox from inchworm, and a 5.0low geared case behind that(23 spline fron trans to tailshaft). Before he unplugged the electronics it seemed to stay in od all the time but still crawled at a snails pace. The auto is nice he is still getting everything worked out, and learning how to use it to his advantage. There seemed to be alot of drawbacks at first, but the only one left is the fact that the gearing will pull through the breaks. He shifts it like a manual without the clutch and it will even start in gear.

Good eye by the way. I didn't mention the drivetrain on this forum, but I did post about it on marlin crawler at one time. He is running 36 tsl swampers, longfields, budbuilt crossmember on custom mounts,2 inch spacers all the way around, and now 5.29, after shearing the teeth from the frot and rear 5.71s at the same time.Rears up front marlin crossover,f150s in back and ranchos f/r. I will try to get some pics saturday, couse it looks way different now. He has been buisy with the sawzall.

sweet... thanks for the info. I really like the auto route, when I get around to swapping out my drivetrain I plan on going to a slushbox.
