Although I will probably never be fortunate to wheel moab, I can recognize the importance of keeping lands open to the public, and showing our appreciation of the land is a major factor. Stand-up act mike, good job :)

Hopefully a few people who read this will check out the thread on the PBB. It would be great if people would add their two cents as far as what the ad will say, and then give the guy setting up the ad some cash.
This is a response to the ad created by the lying sacks of shit at the SUWA.

Thanks Mike, I think that this is a great idea. I will even have the Jensens(my friends that live down there) grab a extra newspaper for me.... I also will be talking to Kurt, the pres of U4WDA, later today pertaining to some other business, but I will ask him how it is coming along.... Thanks again Mike...

I threw down a few bucks. So far it looks like a rather weak response.

As I was saying Mike, I think it would be a better idea to give the money to the guy whose business was improperly listed in order to hire a lawyer. He should first fire off a letter to the governor saying that his business name was falsely and without his knowledge or consent used in the ad, second he should explore preferring criminal charges against SUWA, third he should pursue a civil suit in order to force them to pay for and print a full page retraction in the very same paper admitting their guilt and deceitful practice, further to recover any monetary loss to his business along with legal costs and punitive damages. If any or all of those measures proved to bear any fruit, it would tend to have a lasting and very nullifying effect on whatever SUWA had to say from that point forward. I think he has legal grounds to proceed on one or more of those lines. The message traffic associated with the ad on the off road message boards alone provides evidence of the potential damage to his business that they have sought to do. I do not think it would be all that difficult to show malicious intent on SUWA's part either.

That's very generous. Saw an update in the PBB thread, the Moab Times is giving him 15% off the price of the full page ad, and also doing a story about how this all came to be.
I just hope that they take some sort of shot at SUWA for what they did.

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU". And really it has nothing to do with the $100.....What you are defending for us is worth far more than that. I have a buddy over there right now also and I know that it means the world to him just to have one person say thank you and trust in him as I do, so I pass it on to you and to everyone you know that has been over there..... THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you guys very much! I cannot actually say how successful it has been because I do not want the donations to stop - but I can say this - it has been very successful. It has made it to boards and email lists all over the place and I can guarantee the ad will not be a problem! Thank you guys, TTORA really stepped up, with probably over $200 easily from TTORA members alone who identified themselves. Thanks!!!!!!

Thanks for organizing it. It's people that take the time to put together these sorts of things that really make it all happen. Trust me I know :)

According to the thread on PBB, there is almost enough to run the ad twice.

great! and I like the fact that you donated the remaining funds to a local club; I'm sure they will be doing follow-up on this :D
How did you manage to keep it civil? LOL I would have been ripping the dorks who made that "list" a new one.

i think some of us wheelers take things to far and in a sense are wacko;s in our own rights....life is meant to be lived, not stuck hell bent 24/7 on one thing.... take a break breath some of that clean air and focus on reality and not so much on being angry..in otherwords dont lose sight of what we are fighting for.....:)
