I think I am going to do the video in the car on the way to farmington. We have too much to do to pack before then - plus I will have 8 hours to do it ya know!!!
If any of you have portable hard drives or thumb drives and are bringing your laptop that would help. mY music cash has been wiped because my external hard drive took a shitter. I am going to burn some MP3's but I am always looking for new wheelinf tunes!

If you bring the fried harddrive ill try and see if i can "unfry" it. Talked to the techs at work and they said that its possible. They are giving me "notes" to give it a shot. :saw:

Looks like it dried out big time compared to Saturday. Members of the club I wheel with ran it Saturday and had quite a time in the muddy rocks.

It looks like a fun trail, I need to make my way up there sometime!

Why aren't you driving your rig Molly??

You must think I wasn't driving because I was too scared. LOL after my roll not much scares me anymore!
My friend Darrick who taught me how to wheel many years ago has been rigless for 2 years. So whenever he has a chance to go with us, I let him drive because he misses it so much. Plus he does stuff in my rig I would never have thought of. He is an unreal wheeler. Don't worry I get plenty of seat time, but I spread the tippy love between Darrick and Troy too.... :D
Oh and Octoberist invited me to go Saturday but I had plans with my sister... But one of these days I will wheel with you frogs!

AWESOME PICS!!!
Sweet guys!!! Glad you guys were able to get the jeep on its way again. What was the cause of the roll?
Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a blast.
Man - every time I see another Jeep in trouble on that first obstacle, makes me wonder.... My one and only time on that trail, my Taco crawled right up - no problems.
Probably good spotting by Ike and Cory, plus an advantageous long wheelbase.....
Volcom
07-31-2007, 09:11 AM
Wheelbase is a funny thing :D
It can help you as in your case Jacket but can also hurt you like my case at Blanca on Jaws1. I would say it probably was a combo of good spotting and wheelbase.

yeah, it is pretty funny.
pretty much works out that you gotta go with what you got. Long wheelbase is good for climbs, descents, and on road stability, while short wheelbase is good for breakover angle, and turning radius obstacles.
Feel bad for the guy who flopped, that can't be fun...

Man, I'm bummed I didn't get to go :(. Maybe in a couple weeks I'll leave the truck in one piece long enough to go out.
Too bad about the Jeep, looks like a nice build.

What was the cause of the roll?
I didn't see it happen, but from where the rig was, I would go with total bonehead driving/spotting. I don't think far right has EVER been the line on that obstacle. With what it took to get him out of there, I have the feeling that he bought a capable rig and was in WAY over his head.
It was really lucky that the passenger wasn't in the rig - he would have bounced his head off that rock pretty good!

OUCH!
That sucks. Case of rig can out drive the driver then...that sucks.
Sigh...I need to get my truck ready to go out again...

I Did see it... too much skinny pedal from what I could tell because it happened so fast. But we've all been there - this guy just happened to have his luck run out. The best part (and I am kicking myself for not getting video in time was watching 12 guys easily push it up right. That was just awesome!!!

its not a soft top. It is very nicely cut factory top.
Had a chance to wheel with that truck, very nice indeed. It was built well, and done for a good price.

That rig belongs to Jacob - a Toyota Tech at Boulder Toyota who is a good friend of mine, In fact he did the SAS on my runner and I bought it 2 months after he finished it. (That's how we met). We've been friends since :D Though my runner was the guinea pig and he has since learned what NOT to do based on some of the limitations of Tippy (my truck) Jacob isn't on any forums BUT he does do custom work for whoever wants it... So PM me if you want his info. He lives in Broomfield.

Yeah here is the first go around of the video but I am going to tweak it again tomorrow. I made a few mistakes and want to change a few things and subtitle the obstacles. Still this should hold you over ya Jackal!

I can't remember his name. I've slept since then. That had the camera rolling on the other side of the first obstacle. I'd like to see some of that footage.

Guys if you want yer footage in my videos... It better be a .wmv (Windows readble format) Fawk Apple. *grrrr*
