Welcome to Ohio. A few of us will be getting together for a fun night at Summit in Tallmadge on the 15. It is a truck show but after the show we go to some mud runs witch most of just watch as well. I am sure there will be more trips to Wellsville and other places.

As soon as you said you would be there until December I knew you were a Co-Op! If they like you you should get invites back when you have breaks from School.

Welcome to Ohio David. I'm Eric from Columbus. I've worked at Evansville a few times. My company has a tech there pretty much all of the time. We do the access control and security systems there. Its pretty cool when they do test runs on the engines :D

Get to do anything cool in the 34 Program yet?

not really, still learning a lot about how the GE network works and such. actually, i didn't know this from the term "control systems" but its VERY EE and software engineering related...which is exactly the kind of material that made me switch FROM CmpE to ME, so i've asked for a transfer. my new assignment, hopefully starting tomorrow, is component design for the GEnx engine (the new engine for the 787 Dreamliner). that should be a lot more related to my major and should be really fun. ill let you know how that one turns out

The 34 has been around for a while, so the Next Gen Engine Program sounds like a fun place to start.

Hey Dude, just wondering how you like the Next Gen Engine Program?

its goin great, i like this assignment a lot better. im doing a lot of work in vis and UG doing design and whatnot and I get my share of hands-on on the shaker table and wet rig, its a pretty well-rounded job. im starting the jet engine teardown school soon which should be pretty awesome.

There should be some decent stuff for you in Teardown, they probably will have some old 34s, CFMs, CF6s, and if your lucky maybe a GE90. You should see some of the Pre FADEC Stuff, its all levers and Cables!
