....are royaly screwed, well at least the drivers side is. I did an oil change today and noticed that my divers side motor mount is broken. The funny part is this probably happened when I was in Pismo, which was over 2 months ago, and right before we went a friend of mine added some gussets to the stock perches. I have no clue what to do at this point, any suggestions would be nice.

Nice mounts, gonna need som eof those myself.
Question for those who have replaced their mounts- how much needs to be removed/loosened to get the motor up enough to replace the mounts and beef up the perches?
Thanks
Mike

As far as I go im not going to make them anymore, Vendetta is your best bet...
For perches I would only buy one of those stock ones them have them made in a way thicker matieral, thats what I had to do on my truck and they held up. But the stock mount wasnt for shit on the frame when its been hit on.

esb mike had them on his website for 300 so they should be around that price last time i talked to mike(lucerne night race) he said hes gonna re-design the motor mount to make it easier to install and make them alittle bit more beefier

They look bad ass. and I imagine would eliminate driveline slop.

Ive never done them on a taco.. but I imagine its similar to the other vehicles Ive done. I usually put a thick piece of ply under the oil pan and slightly lift the engine off its mount (using a floor jack). It doesnt take much lifting to just unbolt and put the new stuff on. OH.. and one side at a time. Having help doesnt hurt either.

Now that I know Vendetta makes motor mounts that takes care of one problem, but I still have to deal with the perches. Does anyone know how hard it would be to cut out the old perches and weld in new ones without taking out the whole motor out?

I haven't fixed anything yet, but here is the plan. I got a new set of perches from Toyota. A friend of mine is going to gusset them for me. I'm going to get the Vendetta motor mounts. I'm going to work on one side at a time. I'll start with the drivers side (the side that's broken). I'll jack up the motor. Then I'm going to unbolt the stock motor mount and cut off the stock perch. Then I'll bolt the Vendetta motor mount and the new gusseted perch on and they should be in about the right position. I'll have someone weld it up for me and then I'll start on the other side. I think this should work, how does this sound?
The hard part will be finding someone with a good welded that does't mind coming over to my house (probably twice)

Take lots of pics, and post a write-up.
...I'm starting to get concerned about this too. I don't think mine are cracked or broken yet - at least not that I can see - but my engine / trans seems to be torquing around more than it used to. I've been thinking about replacing & beefing up my motor mounts.

Havent fixed it yet...It's ghetto rigged right now with a couple washers pinching everything together. Not sure how long it's going to last, but for now it's holding everything in place. We're just going to weld new/beefier perches in when I have a chance. Might just build some solid mounts too while we're at it...not sure yet.

I was out in glamis this past weekend and while I was goin over some pretty serious whoops at about 50mph, my engine started slamming around. Not Good. Sure enough, the drivers side mount is almost completely missing. I contacted vendetta via DR and talked to landon yesturday. They should be sending me out a pair of mounts by this weekend.
Look at that gangsta lean. haha

how are your frame perches looking? once the stock mount fails, only thing thats left is your frame perch, and those don't usually last once the mount is gone...
