Depends a bunch on what your using them for, Emulsion are just as good but heat up and fade faster. Resi's stay cooler longer!

rock crawling and DD mainly. figured i could save some $ and use it elsewhere with the emulsions. thanks for the links.

I would say go with a resi shock. They are easier to work with and when you don't have any nitro in them and are cycling your suspension you don't get oil everywhere. And to add or take out nitrogen it's a bitch and you better bring your poncho! also if the oil level is not the same along with the nitro charge you can get different valve rates between shocks.
If anything get 2.0 resi or internal floating piston shocks that separate the air and oil.
