Went wheelin with AZVJC guys at the Cracks. Wheeled with their big group on Sat. morning. Mainly to learn the different trails, never been there before. The rest of the weekend me and my friend Justin wheeled by ourselves because it's like a big traffic jam with the jeep club wanting to take pictures of "Everything". Overall, a fun weekend.

Damn it Josh, I was about 15-20 miles away from there, and never been there. Cool pics and area. I should have come by to show those "Jeep guys" how it's done...with less pictures too. Would have been sweet to do some more wheeling as if we didn't do enough.

Edit: HOLY SOON TO BE F-ED UP CHEVY LEAFS!

Hope you had fun Josh - there should have been more High country renegades then vjc guys. Did you get a chance to meet TC - I told him you were going.

oh and how did you like the wheeling? - did ya give the snake pit a go?

Saw TC. Did not meet him tho. Met Cliff, and rode out with him.
Snake pit is a little tight. I came thru it backwards and then climbed up the ledge instead of trying to pivot around that turn.

My understanding of this area is that for those who wheel there often, they'd prefer to keep it's location less advertised. I'm sure they'd appreciate any specific directions to be pm'd between known members.

I can understand that. They have all of the trails marked with arrows, and stress that you stay on the trail. It's not a long trail, more like a maze of little trails that loop around.

Josh it's not about fellow wheelers rather the Greenies that patrol these forums. Posting up directions on an unrestricted board is a bad thing IMO.
As soon as those asshat find out about it it will be game over.

I didn't know it was private land, so it wouldn't be good for a TTORA run, my bad :o

Hey Mark, I don't think it's private land. It's just been mentioned that it isn't an all that well known about area to wheel and they would just like to keep the traffic down.

I heard either the camp site was on private land or the trails. I can't remember which.

Nice pics. Your right they did take alot of pics of almost everything. And they even posted some pics of me on the VJC site....:D

The trails are on private property, some of the locals that were there with us know the owner. It is not reserved for certain peeps but we ask that you do follow the arrows and main trails. The camping area is STL.

Here's a pic of camp Saturday night when the rain was comin in.

That view was available from most of the trails up there...very cool place.

The "cracks" themselves are frickin incrdible and amazing. Josh and his buddy in the Willys had more guts than I gettin down inside them that far.

It's hard to see because it sits so low, which is good. D60 front/rear? 3-link in the front?

Very driveable, comfortable at 75 MPH, just been trailering for 15 years so gonna take a while to get comfortable driving and wheelin. plus this wasonly it's second real wheelin trip and I can get more camping stuff in teh big truck. Especially Beer....:D

I'll drive it to TM or out to the east side to do something out off teh beeline??but for now I'm trailering to anything outside teh area. The trailer will definately get used for Moab/Colorado/?? out of state.
