This thread will be devoted to collecting all the info for the Sept. 22-23 event. I'll add and edit things as needed. Just reply if something needs to be changed.

Dates:
Friday, September 21 thru Sunday September 23.

Attendees:
Currently we have 25 rigs coming, and 48 people overall.

Park Info:
http://orvpark.com/
Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=superlift,+hot+springs,+ar&ie=UTF8&om=1&ll=34.516175,-93.001328&spn=0.129562,0.233459&z=12)
Superlift Off-Road Vehicle Park
2100 Mill Creek Road
Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901
Office: 501-625-3600
Fax: 501-625-3607
E-mail: manager@orvpark.com

Camping:
---> Most are camping at the Superlift park all weekend. If you wish to camp elsewhere, there is a KOA a few miles away, and a National Park site called Gulpha Gorge not far away.
---> Sites have tent pads, and fire rings. If Garland County isn't under a burn ban, then you can have fires. Check here for burn ban status (http://www.forestry.state.ar.us/map/bbmap_png.php3)
---> Please, PLEASE pick up after yourself and others. Leave the site better than you found it. Also, when on the trails, try to pick up any litter you see.

Timeline:

Friday -
9:30 am: Meet Glen at Superlift ORV in Hot Springs to be escorted to the Ross Foundation in Bismarck
10:00 am - 6:00 pm: Arrive at park, setup camp, get settled, and prepare for a possible night run. Wheel some if you'd like
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Dinner at you're own leisure
8:00 pm: Gather and leave for night run (if possible)

Saturday -
8:45 am: Meet at pavilion to organize groups and trail leaders.
9:00 am: Groups leave to hit the trails
9:00 am - 6:00 pm: Wheeling with lunch at your own leisure
7:00 pm: Gather at pavilion, buy raffle tickets, catered BBQ dinner
8:00 pm: Raffle drawing begins
8:30 pm?: Night run (if possible)

Sunday -
10:00 am: Trail ride if needed
Before the park closes: pack up, clean up, and head home

Wheeling:

Friday - Seems like this is the day most are getting there. Some will be there already and wheeling with Glen. I'd say this is a "explore on your own/buddy up if you wish" day for those not going to Ross, but we can surely have leaders.

---> Glen will lead those wanting to wheel the Ross Foundation in Bismarck on Friday.
---> Maybe we can get a night run going, or explore Hot Springs that evening.

Saturday - I'd like to have 2-3 groups of people w/ trail leaders if we can. Looks like we're going to have lots of moderate rigs there, so we probably need at least 2 groups of those. Then there can be a hardcore group for folks like the Mammoths and gittinit (but I still want to watch them do things like Winch Hill, Concrete Hill, etc.).

---> We will start wheeling around 9:00
---> We'll break for lunch around 1-2.
---> Call it a day around 7.
---> Have dinner around 7:30, and the drawing around 8.
---> The rest of the night can be spent doing the usual campfire stuff, and maybe an adventure on the town if there enough interest.

Sunday - maybe get some groups together again, or just play it by ear. Most are leaving this day.

Volunteers:

Friday -
---> Someone to lead at Ross. (Glen)
---> Someone to lead at Superlift. (various unknown people, ???)
---> Someone to greet folks and make them feel welcome. I really want to meet everyone face to face and make them feel like "making the trip to Hot Springs" was worth it. (Josh)

Saturday -
---> Someone to "be the speaker" of the morning, and direct folks to appro. groups/trail leaders. (Josh)
---> Trail leaders for guided rides (???)
---> Someone to "be the speaker" of the dinner, and raffle. (Josh)
---> Someone to sell tickets throughout dinner, and be responsible for the money collected. (Glen's family Sat. ??? on Friday if needed)
---> Someone to take a wheeling break and go get the dinner from the BBQ place (maybe they can deliver it?). And someone to call in the order.
---> Someone to sell AR-TTORA stickers. (Lance and Josh)

Sunday -
---> Someone to lead trails if required. (???)
---> People to make sure the campsites are picked up and clean (one of the last folks to leave on Sunday needs to do a quick check as well). (???)

Raffle:
As of now here's how the raffle will work:
---> Tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5.
---> There will be separate pots/buckets for the big items, and one general all-purpose pot/bucket to draw the smaller items from.
---> After all big items are claimed, the leftover tickets will be dumped into the big general pot/bucket, and tickets will be drawn from there for the smaller prizes.
---> There is no limit on how many tickets you can buy!

Big items with separate pots -

---> Four tires donated by Pit Bull Tires (up to 35") :eek:
---> One set of tube doors OR one set of sliders donated and fabricated by Michael Faber (aka gittinit) :)
---> One set of standard sliders donated and fabricated by Paul Henney (aka newman99) :cool:
---> One front bumper OR one rear bumper OR one tire carrier/rack donated and fabricated by Darrell "Jake" Jacob (aka Oddmar) ;)

Smaller items drawn from one large pot -

---> Schwag and goodies from Pit Bull Tires
---> Schwag and goodies from Warn
---> AR-TTORA stickers
---> TEQ stickers
---> Who knows??

Other info:

Hot Springs has an AutoZone, O'reilly, Advance Auto Parts, and Bumper to Bumper (in case you break something :) )

This is our first real event as the Arkansas Chapter of TTORA. Some of this is "fly by the seat of our pants", so bear with us as we try to make this a great event for everyone.

Thanks, Josh :)

Way to be on top of things Josh. How about a timeline. Something to show when and where to meet so as to get involved with particular trail rides, or the meal/raffel. Thanks.

I don't know if it helps much but I'm going to try to make it up for Saturday and Sunday morning. Some family health issues require that I keep things kind of fluid for the next little while. If I can get there I would be glad to do some trail leader stuff. 3's, 4's and some of the easier 5's works great for me. I'll try to firm this up as time draws nearer. Hope to see ya there!

I've offered to build a front or rear tube bumper, or a tire carrier or rack, for the raffle. Built to fit the truck of whoever wins. They can come by my shop in Pekin, Illinois to have it installed, or pay shipping to their address.

I said i'd be there, even if i have to take the bus, Gittinit...

Trunkz (my friend Mike) asked for the time off, and i'm supposed to get a 4Runner ready for him, but someone just quit at his work so they might rearrange his schedule. If they do, i'll probably take the bus down...

Are you gonna bring that transfer-case shifter i accidentally sent you, Gittinit?

The gift-certificate thing apparently didn't sift through my skull, Glen...i'll print one up and bring it with me, and email Josh to let him know, ok?

I'll bring a top shift shifter for ya. Are ya gonna be able to bring down that tranny shifter with ya....I'm wanting to make a short throw shifter out of it for my truck. :)

Do I need to print off one of those gift certificate things too? Any ideas where I can find something like that in a printable version on the internet.

I'm creating the gift certificates, so no need to worry guys. I do need your full name Oddmar, so I can put it on the cert. PM me that if you'd like.

This is what I'm doing for Paul, and will do the same for y'all:

This certificate good for one set of standard rock sliders designed and fabricated by Torchworxs/Paul Henney (aka newman99).

Given on Sat. Sept 22 at the first AR-TTORA event.

Sliders are standard <insert material stuff here>, and can be welded on, or bolted on. Side hoops (mid body protection) not included. They are bare steel (e.g. you have to paint them)

What transmission shifter are you speaking of, Gittinit? I must have forgot.

Josh, my full name is Darrell "Jake" Jacob. My company name is PointBlank Fabrication. My phone # is 309-202-1682. I can give you specifics on what i'm willing to build, or i am capable of printing up my own certificate.

BTW, i have a sign company, with a vinyl graphics cutter...Are you in need of any signage for the event? Free of course...

I'm getting our "Goddess of Graphic Design" here at work to make up some fancy ones :) PM me the specs and/or any thing in particular you want on the cert.

As for signs, nothing comes to mind at the moment. Glen might have some ideas, or maybe make a "participation" sticker of some sort for each truck.
