Here is a variation of the bed storage lock, I took out the latches and installed cabinet locks into that same location. The holes were not quite 3/4" so had to ream it out a bit. Works great and you don't have to cut any new slots for the latch either. I bought the locks from Ace Hardware, all keyed the same.

Nice idea, I thought about doing that myself. I have $50.00 worth of ratchet straps in the one side, and a extension cord in the other.

Are the locks weatherproof ??

No I don't believe they are waterproof. I don't anticipate that being a problem. On my Tundra I had a toolbox and it was obvious that it wasn't waterproof as water would get in and freeze, little bit of dirt too, but I could still get it to turn. That was on the side of the truck so it got covered with dirt and road grime constantly. I also have ratchet straps in one side, and a tow rope in the other. I don't use them a lot, but when I am ready to tie something down, or get stuck, I don't want to find out at that point that some idiot stole my stuff.

Did you use two or four cabinet locks? and how did you make the hole bigger?
