Well after searching the board I really couldn't find any writeups on hydro assist on the solid axle swapped Tacomas, so I'm gonna try to get some more technical pics on my assist setup and some tech writing on every pic hopefully this will end up as a sticky or something. Overall it's pretty much straight forward to an older 79-95 Pickup. Overall I'll get some more pics up and technical data thursday or after I get back from the ARTTORA meeting at Superlift this weekend. If you have any questions til then just ask.:D

What I Used vvvvv
-1.5"x8"x1" Swivel End Dual Acting Ram $84.95 http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2007091620321565&item=9-7258-8&catname=hydraulic
-2 6M to 1/4" NPT 90" Swivel Adapters (At the Ram) $6.18 http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2007091620321565&item=9-6901-6-4&catname=hydraulic
Total from Surplus Center= $101.32

- Went to a hometown auto parts store and had two 1/4" Hydraulic Lines made..one 3.5' and the other 4'. Had a straight 1/4" NPT fitting put on one end and a 90* 1/4" NPT put on the other. $50.00
- Tractor Supply had the two 3" 3/4" Grade 5 bolts I used along with the lock washers and nuts for $3.??
-Misc.. 5' of Hose to run for the low pressure side to the PS cooler, hose clamps, 2 Cans of carb cleaner, and 3" of 3"ID Exhaust Tubing for the fluid reservior.. $20?
-Custom Fabbing of the brackets and the labor of tapping the PS box by Michael Faber of Faber Fabrication= FREE!
Ended up costing about $175 for the whole setup. Great and easy compared to the $250 kits on ebay.

Pics kinda suck since I forgot I had the camera til we already had the box back together after tapping.

The ram and the adapters..

You may have to remove the ram and cycle the steering with the lines pointing upward in order to get the air completely out of the ram. Just a heads up. Oh yea don't show us pics of that michael guy if he dosen't have appropriate saftey gear on, Please.

Gloves? All besides that you do. Nothing special required besides helmet and gloves unless you are ultra sensitive to UV Rays.

Well...if this has anything to do with drive time, i dont belive i'll be getting any for the next week or so...:D :saw:

It was working pretty good tho...its good at idle but still a little jumpy at crusing speed (45 to 70)..I guess i'll get used to it.
