Take your prerunner to the Hammers. You'll understand why. Hardcore runs like that do not need stock or slightly modified trucks holding up the group. There are apparently different trails there for different levels of experience/rigs, but if you look at the people going, it is not going to be a dry lakebed run. Don't get so butt hurt because people don't want to spend their day spotting or yanking people up obsticals.

Gay is spending two hours to help some heavy foot jackass fix a broken cv shaft on the waterfall at the end of Aftershock because he didn't listen to us when we said that this run is not ifs friendly. This run was not publicized for that very reason. The trails at the Hammers are for those rigs that run 35s and larger as they are not for the faint of heart. There are no bypasses and there are no crybabies. Sorry for the rant, but the last TTORA run I was on someone was complaining that Holcomb creek was too hard. :lmao:

Just what is it that makes people think that everyone has some of friggen right to be included in everything whether it pertains to them or not? It's not like it's an official TTORA run or anything. I just don't see why people can't just let the Boy Scouts be for Boys and the Girl Scouts be for Girls. It's just the same kinda screwed up attitude in my opinion. The last time I drove all the way down there to JV, I spent an entire damn day running one trail because of one asshat who had no damn business being on the trail. I was not a happy camper considering the distance, effort and expense involved in my making the trip. If you're so damn butt hurt about it then either spend the time and money to build you shit or just STFU. If anyone here is being gay, it's you. I am getting damn sick and tired of all the whiney asses here lately.

The movie had some good shots in it but too much interview and dirt bikes for me. What shots they had of trucks were bitchin though. I want to go down there now. Not to race but just to run the course on vacation or some such. At least there were some other old guys doin the race. Hell, they were even older than me. One was in his seventies.

No, I just figured him for a NOOB of some sort. There's been such a rash of them lately. But, from what you say it sounds like he's the same type of asshole that ruined my last run down there. There was the same kinda whineing about the AZ Rocks run and I am really getting feed up with it. What is the issue these folks have with just plain old good common sense.
YUNADERIS
04-11-2005, 03:24 PM
i agree..i remember the BS at Azrocks.... a prerunner cant go everywhere a 4x4 can..i dont care if you have a winch..winch your ass up a tree and stay there.
this run was planned for just a few buddies to get together..nothing to do with TTORA or whatever other club...it was for FRIENDS...if you werent invited, you werent wanted...plain and simple....
WHiny democraps are pissing me off.... liberal pricks probably would do their best to make every trail open to prerunners..that would be great for trail preservation now wouldnt it?

Yes there is, and they should be seen as different.
keep in mind there are new members everyday that maybe have trucks that would be into it and would miss out.
Yes, and sometimes I don't want to wheel with new members, members I don't trust on the trail, or I want to keep it a small group.
you even said yourself "There are apparently different trails there for different levels of experience/rigs" and its a place i have never heard of.
But I didn't say they will be running easy trails. Look at the people/rigs going. They are not going out there to pamper people. They are going out there to run The HAMMERS. That is a hardcore trail. What don't you get about it?
maybe a couple of us would like to know where it is and go out on our own so you arent "spotting or yanking people up obsticals". i just thought it might be cool to hang with everyone there at night after were all done.
Ummm, no. You don't get it. Google for the Hammers, go to Pirate and look up the Hammers. Find some official run to go hang out with these people.

This is exactly why I haven't been on a TTORA run in so long. Too much drama for me. Let's freaking wheel, have a few beers and call it a day. If I have to hear anymore whining, I swear I am going to by a Jeep :flipoff2:
:soapbox: You didn't get invited because your rig won't last at the Hammers! Get over it and realize that you can't go everywhere! :soapbox: I am SASed an you are not going to see me running Backdoor or some of there other super hard Hammers trails, because I like sheet metal. Frankly, I don't know you and I don't want someone who I don't know spotting me through the waterfall at the end of Aftershock.

There are a lot of runs that are planned on this board and other boards as well. Just because it's posted, or you think you can run it because you don't care about body damage, doesn't mean that the rest of the group on the run wants to be held up why you try! Nothing pisses me off more then waiting on the trail because some jackass, (yes jackass) thinks he can make it over that obstacle in his non lifted prerunner. If people are telling you that your truck is not capable, Then it's NOT, Get over it!

Go ahead and kirrrr them, Dan. Perhaps just add a little tag to their siq showing their perpetual propensity to whine or something is in order. It can only be added and removed by mods. After a suitable period of non whining posts, it could be removed. In the same vein, maybe you should add something to mine and Corey's to warn people about us. How about a flaming bloody axe, guillotine on fire or something along those lines? Oh yeah, Andy too, I don't want to leave him out. LOL

Some runs should be reserved for the more heavily modified/equipped rigs. I liked to wheel hard with what I had, but sometimes what I had wasn't enough. If I wanted to be part of the action I'd ride shotgun and pull winch line for a day.
Sometimes disclaimers aren't enough to keep away rigs that would make more work for other people right from the get go. Not to say, however, that every single run should cater itself to truck x or truck y.

One of the So-Cal runs from last year was listed as a 4x4 trail and when we grouped up I asked if everybody was 4wd. We drive to the trailhead and just before we hit the trail, I find out we have a n00b driver with a prerunner. We discussed it and decided to let him stay, and a few people in the group would help the truck through the tough spots. Everything went fine, but those few helpful drivers would have enjoyed the day more if they didn't have to tug the prerunner a few times.

I've been helped along a few times, and helped others along a few times. Just sucks when people get in over thier head and stress other people's vehicles more than they should and/or leave people standing around waiting. Steve and I went on a run a while back with an ill equipped rig that didn't even have tow points, or a strap. Was an internet dude. Hopefully he at least learned from the experience, and luckily we didn't have to stress our trucks more than to be expected.
