If anybody else wants a project FJ (and I do mean "project"), there appears to be a rolling chassis of a 1975 FJ40 on South Boulder Road and Cimmaron, between Louisville and Lafayette. Only the front half of the tub, windshield cracked, no driveshafts, didn't look too close or pop the hood but it may be just a frame, front half of a tub, and axles.

A guy could probably get it for a couple hundred bucks, or less :p. It would need a frame-off, the frame is rusty and full of dirt but doesn't appear to be rusted through anywhere...it actually looks pretty sound.

It'd be a kickass start for a lowbuck build with a pickup bed conversion, throw a lexan windshield in there and a good drivetrain, get to work fabricating and you'd be stylin'...or a starting point for a buggy or something.

It needs paint. It's that poop-yellow color :p.

I saw that one too. It's in the same place where a red 40 was for sale 4-6 weeks ago. Not sure if its a coincidence, or there's a guy who collects/sells 40's.

I want one, but in a little better shape.....

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about FJ40's ... why not just get a Jeep for less than half the price?

Because then your getting a jeep :xbarf: YUK!!!

So what's the difference in putting a 350/4L60E/Atlas/D-60's in/under a 40 and just getting a Jeep to start with?

C'mon Troy. The difference is that FJ40's make it back from trail runs.

Nice rig Jason. Took a look at it last weekend.

I found the guy there to be unpleasant and rude. I'm convinced he overcharged me exorbitantly on a U-Haul trailer rental.
