I think the first year of the v6 was also the last year of the solid axle. I remember this from my old days of 4runner worship. Whether the year was 86 I cant remember.. I'll search.

85 was the last year of the SA. 86 was the first year of IFS. :( You don't want the V6. Too many blown head gaskets. Stick with the 4cyl.

Not my style but nice. The only other thing I would find out is . .. does it have a crawler. If you are going to spend 10k on something 20 years old, it needs to be done.

That sure is a lot of miles for a V6 motor. :(

no crawler. But it has a full cage and many other unique features. He sais he can go down a little, what should I offer him?
200k on the odo is a lot, realistically, would I be opening a can of disgusting worms? What is the average cost to put a new motor in?

I just saw where Angry Andy has his 89 runner (SAS) for sale. Take a gander at his!

I saw it, and am liking it. I asked in there if hed take 1000 off so I could have it shipped. Some things I really like about this one, the goofy paint aside, are the internal rollcage, and the 12" bob...

But I agree, andy's is lookin mighty fine!

It's your money, but I wouldn't buy it. You will be rebuilding that V6 soon and with no crawler, why even bother.

I offered the guy $7000 and he is thinking on it. I think with the money I would save I could afford to do an engine swap. How much is it to put a crawler in?

Plus driveline work. Plus the install, unless you are going to do it yourself, plus the crossmember etc. etc.
