I am going to go up to the Redding area to run some easy trails in the area. So far I am planning on running Popcorn Cave Trail, Burney Mountain Trail, Murken Bench Trail, and Hat Creek Rim Trail. Depending on time, we may add trails.

I am going to leave Friday afternoon and stay in a hotel in Redding for the night. On Saturday the 21st we will spend the day exploring some trails. On Sunday we may explore some close trails then head home.

If anyone is interested in coming along, e-mail me at pete(at)parksoffroad.com and let me know.

You going to the Hollister run also? It is down more your direction.

Glad to see you have a tow strap!

I have changed the date to one week earlier, the 21st and 22nd. We are going to just stay Friday and Sat night in a local hotel. The original weekend was memorial day and the wife wanted to go somewhere else for the long weekend.

Pete are you still planning to run this? I'm not sure how far away redding is from the bay area? I might be able to come up for one night. I'd prolly camp or sleep in the back of the truck somewhere, cause I don't feel like spending money on a hotel.

But lemme know if your going!

Yes, it is quite a way even for me. I am going to move it forward a few weeks as there was not much interest and I want to do something else that weekend. I will update the thread once I change the dates.

i live in redding, let me know when you're going and i'll definately be down to go. Redding is about 4-5 hours north of the bay area. 2.5 hours north of Sacramento.

I'm going back up to redding on saturday, but can make it sunday most likely...if i don't make it, is there any way you can hook me up with info on the trails you're running? I'm looking for more places to wheel this summer when i get home. thanks

Hella FAR.

Sometimes you gotta do some driving to get to the good stuff. Moab is only 16 hours from San Jose. :D

Later,
....Mike

I am going to re-schedule the trip for June 17-19. We will wheel on the 18th and maybe a little on the 19th. I am going to make my hotel reservations right away (to deter the wife from planning something else like this weekend!).

dude, hawaii, it'll be there next year. but wheeling trips? once gone, they are gone forever.....

and I forgot, there is this thing called the Indy 500, I've only been watching it for about, oh, 25 years or so. I like to catch it wherever I am. Now if someone's rig has direct TV, I am soooooo there.

As long as you're in Redding you might as well go Bigfoot hunting!

People always overlook that up there.....

Keep me posted I want to go. I live in Crockett off 80 by Vallejo and Redding isn't to far (3 hrs? I'll check). Maybe people could meet at my house and go up in a group.

This took all day from 9 in the morning to 9 at night.
I drove up to Reno Yesterday, 3 hrs door to door, went to Summit, exchanged those parts I wanted to do last weekend. Got a very cool 0 to 15 lb tire guage and a HiLift jack rack. Stopped at Twin City's Surplus to get a Desert Camo shirt for the death valley run and guess what I saw??? An Urban Cammo Parka that regularly sells for $160 on clearance for $58. It exactly matches your truck. if I was a little more flush I would have brought it back. Call them and see if they will hold it or mail it. I then went to some sporting goods stores to look for some moutain stuff. I drove up to Boreal and got there at 3:30 and skied until a little after 6 then drove home.
I guess I like like to drive and shop too much?

People who even think a 3 hour drive (6 hour round trip) plus wheeling for 3 or 4 hours or more is too far in one day and complain.
