I've heard from a few people now that the entrance from the campgrounds is closed? Any truth to this, also that there is another way in, however no one can seem to confirm where this is, any help?
Thanks

Some people just went out there about 2 weeks ago and the road at the campground is still open and not blasted away...yet! Once you connect with the main road that actually goes to Hackberry Creek, it's turns into a dirt road now. The trail by the windmill that goes up high to the right (as you enter Hackberry) is also open and I've heard it's moderate. That will take you to 177 witch will take you back to Superior.

The last time I went out there, you could still get to the second entrance, just pass the campgrounds ( don't turn in ) and keep going and about a mile or so you'll see an entrance to the left and it'll take you by a water collection pond and then some corrals and on a rocky road that'll lead up and over to the second half of the trail, but the slab rock and such are gotten to by a left turn up atop the rocky hill. I just found the google map, follow the road to go straight out to the corral with the windmill right by the hackberry loop, or go to the left by the new mines for the old entrance part.
But it was fall 2006 that I was last there. Just go, you'll have fun goofing around out there, if its closed hit up montana mtn. trail or some other out that way trail.

It is open, via Oak Flats campground. I was there about a month ago.
