97 taco will not start. When I turn the key nothin happens. I did have the starter checked out at autozone and and I have volts at the ignition switch and at the starter. Now for some background; the previous owner hit the back of a superduty! The drivers side air bag blew but the passengers did not.I am in the process of putting the truck back together and I need it running for the frame shop. Is there any chance that the air bag deploy has any thing to do with my prob also, I have unplugged the air bag from the steering wheel.Any help would really help me and the truck ( wife is tired of seeing the truck gathering dust).

I know it sounds ridiculous, but have you tapped on the starter with a real heavy ratchet or a hammer? give it a try. Sometimes shadetree is the only way.
Has the truck started at all since the wreck?

Note - he said TAPPED not "beat"! It doesn't take much!

The truck has not been started since it sat in storage @ feb 2006. I bought it in aug 2006.

if it has sat for that long you might want to change all the fluids in it before you start it..... it could be bad otherwise if you do. IMHO

"calibrated tap" got it.
have someone turn the ignition key to start position, as you tap on the starter. sometimes a starter will develop a "bad spot" in it. :2cents:
