I just bought a couple Hella 500's from the national board, but i dont think im getting much in the way of wiring at all. so, ive been looking at the wiring harnesses that you can buy with a switch and all ready to go. such as this one:
HL20952 Hella 450, 500, 550, Rallye 1000, Black Magic Wiring Harness. Includes relay, fuse with fuse holder, lighted rocker switch and wiring. $18.50
http://www.rallylights.com/hella/wiring_harnesses.asp
im electronically inept so i figure this is the best way, but is it cheaper and easier to just buy the necessary wiring and put it together? and i also assume this will power both lights with the one harness correct?
thanks in advance.

If it has predetermined connectors it will help and make things easier. And yes it will power both lights. I may be able to lend a hand if I can figure out what all's going on at the HOW. And either vehicle I bring, you can take a look and see how mine are wired.

Yeah, like David said, those harnesses are the way to go - everything is plug and play at that point.
That harness will handle like 6 lights (the 30A relay is the limitation)

awesome. thanks guys. i think i'll probably just get the harness. can i splice off different switches so they arent all powered by one main switch? i'd like the hellas up front on the bumper, and god knows on the others. rock lights, or roof lights. maybe even fab something up to hold them right behind the cab on the bedsides, and make them with swivel capabilities. hmmm.

You need a separate relay for each switch - best thing is to get a separate harness for each set of lights you want to control independently

I could use some lights if you dont know what to do with the other pair! I like mine in the front but could use some more...probably mounted on the a pillar with some brackets like on heeps...or some rock lights...or some backup lights...damn, I like wheelin in the dark to much for my own wallet!
