Basically just curious if the nice aluminum/steel jack form sears (1.5 tons) is beefy enough to lift a 4x4 3.4 extend cab taco? I've always used 3.5-4tons jacks but they are freaking heavy to move (which isn't a bad thing). So just curious to see what everybody is using.
(if this is in the wrong area, sorry, please move, thanks)
Thanks

You need a jack with the most lift height you can get and I doubt that a 1.5 ton has much of a lift range.

normally the smallest floor jack is a 2 tons.....= 4,000 lbs our whole Taco doesn't even weigh that........I use a 3 ton just because it was a present.....
Generally almost any floor jack w/ our truck will work fine for lifting up any corner of the truck.....

Even 18 inches has its limitations on a stock truck, and would be really inadeqaute for modified truck with increased articulation or a fair sized lift.
Mine went to 21 inches, I ended up welding a 4 inch spacer into mine to make it a little more useful, and safer than piling up lumber to get the height.
