View Full Version : Rear flex

On the dirtball I'm looking to make the rear a little softer for the price of elbow grease. The rears are 59" All-Pro's (Deavers?), 5" springs.
Here's the deal, I'm thinking about removing a leaf to soften it up a little and lowering it a hair. IIRC, if I remove the shortest leaf, it should get a substantially softer and lower, yes? Don't be all getting on me to do Chevys, thats the plan but after a lot of measuring this morning, I'll want to back half it before I go to a 63" spring.

Yes will lower it & soften it up. But you will have to run it & see what you think & not what everyone else says. Just my :2cents:

If you start removing leafs from that pack, plan on building an anti-wrap traction bar.

Thanks fellers. I did some more research and I'm gonna leave it pretty much as is for now, I don't want to just start changing stuff without knowing exactly how to drive this thing. Plus Mark kept this thing tip top maintenance-wise, I'm just gonna change some little stuff and wheel it for now.

Well, I figured that I'm trying to compensate for my lack of seat time by making stuff more flexy. Kind of like me buying or building a buggy. That's great and all but it still doesn't make up for my lack of time in the rocks. In hindsight, not a good idea, so just wheel it and learn then start making junk super whee. :D
