Hey everybody...im having alot of problems with a front end vibration in my steering wheel after shop put 33s on for me. Trying to get anybody knowledgable at the shop is impossible...said tires are balances but made excuses about the locks (street)on the wheels would throw them out of whack...said they did a front end alignment...but yet i see the front tires are angled in on the bottom...i have new 5100s on it...i dont know im getting pretty disgusted with the whole thing...if anyone has any advise and or maybe a local phx area shop knowledgable in late tacoma suspensions it would be greatly apreciated... thanks John.

You need a competent alignment. Toy Box uses a shop that's not bad or Campus Alignment. Both of these are, unfortunately, way on the other side of town for you however they know modified Toyotas.
FWIW, mine rides and drives like a Caddy even with X-Terrains.

Oh shit, that was your first mistake. I stopped in there one day and spoke with the sales guy and just turned around and walked out after 10 seconds of listening to him. Network alignment does decent work. The one I use is one Cave Creek and I think Cactus.

Steering wheel vibration is caused by tires that are improperly balanced

That's a clear sign they fawked it up. Campus is a small family owned shop that only does front end work....look for one of those in your area (yellow pages)

My Pro Comps are horribly out of balance (due to sidewall bruises) and the alignment is a bit out since wheeling Shiny Truck last, it still drives better than when it was wishy washy OEM. His alignment is fawked.
No worries man, a GOOD alignment will fix you right up.

Their computerized machine is down and no ETA yet for fixing it. He's worried the taco is too heavy for the manual machine and that machine also needs wheels with a lip (the kind that a wheel weight could be attached to) vs. many of the aftermaket ones because he needs to attach tools to the wheels. Blah, blah, blah, they are out of commission right now.

Didn't read all the posts here but the front end alignment WILL NOT cause a vibration other than maybe the death wobble. vibration is from cupped or out of round tires or wheels, bent axle flange (rear) or possible bad wheel bearing. front alignment causes a pull, drift or wander or tire wear issues.
my :2cents:
if you have streetlocks that can have an effect on balance especially if the can't get tape weights on the inside of the wheel to clear the calipers?
I suggest airsoft pellets insode the tires. if you google airsoft pellets it will prolly show you links to some balancing info and quantities ??
Good luck.
