As long as I've owned my runner, the fuel gauge has never been reliable. I've been going off the trip... Since our trucks are a never ending money pit, the MPG will be changing with the addition of new parts etc, so I'll need to fix the sender. Does anyone have info on the TSB regarding the 3rd gen 4Runners, mine's a 99. I heard somewhere about having to change a circuit board of some sort as well. Any thoughts?

Mine's a pretty shitty gauge of how much actual gas I have to. But I have a Tacoma, so I don't know if it applies. I always find myself trying to remember just how much I let the truck sit and idle, how much city driving, etc. I haven't ran it out yet, but damn close. I can to less than half a gallon on several occasions.

There is a TSB to replaced part of the combination meter and poss. fuel sender and suction tube.
