Nice shop! Where is that at?
its a shop inside Ft. Carson Army Base, down in colo springs. huge place with about 20+ bays with everything u need. costs $2-3 per hour. really good for peeps like me who got no place/tools to work at/with.

So anybody with a Fed ID can get use the shop at those rates?

Seems like a bargain to me.

There is no shop on Buckley, that I have found. I used them a lot while in the USMC.

ya, if you got a Fed ID you can use it. you can get on the base without a Fed ID as a visitor, but i dont know if you could use the shop.

i finally got the motor in the truck, and its all bolted up to the tranny and the frame...now for the fun part of choking myself with the wiring harness. also the trucks back up in ft collins since i dont really need a shop anymore, which means that i dont have to only work on weekends anymore.:woot: 86yota's letting my use his garage to finish up, and i think that him having a 3.4 swapped 1st gen is gonna come in real handy...

we got the engine fired up :xpimp: and nothing gets me aroused like a roaring engine thats not hooked up to an exhaust system. sounded like i had a v8 in there (i wish)
and if it wasnt for the lack of shrink wrap, the swap would have been complete. all thats left to do is to extend the wiring on the 1st o2 sensor. then all thats really left is to take the truck to an exhaust shop to have them install a whole new exhaust system with the final o2 sensor. till then i can drive it and see whether or not the engines a dud, in which case i will proceed to slam my nuts in a door

thanks to Brain helping me with the last technical details (which would have taken me the whole summer to figure out) the swap is COMPLETE!!!
:bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump: :bhump:

and thanks to murphy having a hard on for me, my drive shaft is BUSTED!!!
:suicide: :suicide: :suicide: :suicide: :suicide: :suicide:

so now im taking it to Englewood Drive Shafts to have them rebuild it.
they better not take longer than wednsday to get it back to me...
ill get some pics of the engine in the truck soon as i can drive it home

here's some pics of the runner when i finally was able to drive it home
from Brians house after picking up a rebuilt drive shaft, which they beefed
up from 65 to 90 (and the guy said that toyota's u-joints are the best )

i will eventually get a scoop to cover this up, and to make it go faster...

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary002.jpg

and im gonna find some tubing to replace that retarded intake muffler or whatever the hell it is

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary003.jpg

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary004.jpg

also, im gonna get the smaller fan that doesnt have the ring. its already rubbing against the shroud a bit

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary006.jpg

i also got those military style battery terminals, same kind we use on humvees

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary005.jpg

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/BL4XD0G/Carp/cary008.jpg

thanks again to Brian for helping me out with the plumbing and the wiring!
god only knows how long that would have taken me to figure out. now pretty much just gotta get a new exhaust system and hook up that second o2 sensor. cant believe what a difference the 3.4 is from the 3.0. on hills that
i had to climb in 3rd i can now cruise through in 5th.
