As far as getting the most out of S/C and URd types of mods, who is are the best tuners in the state?

I know most will be along the front range, but if there is a good one in the Grand Junction area, that would save me a little drive time.

I have a URD 2.85 pulley and tool for my TRD S/C-4.0 along with a LC-1 and AFR gauge coming, I would like to get that dialed in good. Find a good shop to weld the bung in place and all that.

Who is the Colorado master?

I have only done my 4 cyl, but I have done it many times! :D
It finally looks like this last one will stick.

Lesson learned: Do not try for an AFR tune command smaller than 6 (7 on some trucks.) This only got me down to a closed loop AFR of 13.6, which was disappointing.

I'd like to visit my Uncle's cabin up behind Paonia Reservoir sometime soon, so I could stop by for an evening or morning or summat.

Anyone else? Grand Junction perhaps?

Surely I don't have to track down Gadget, right?

Well, after 3 hours on the web and online yellow pages I give up on Colorado tuning.

Looks like I'll have to make a trip out to California to URD.

How F__ing stupid is that!

Going through California to URD is the long way. The REALLY long way.

Gadget is in Maryland.

I called the place in California today, talked to tech support and the guy who answered the line referred to him self as "Gadget" Maybe the phone rolled over to his location in Maryland. I am pretty sure that Cali would have good techs.

I have relatives in S. California, so it would be a big deal.

But no tuners in Colorado huh...

Yeah, Gadget is extension 2 or summat. Rings his cell, and he answers quite often.

It's not that hard, you just have to buy all the crap. (Like another $800 bucks or more, and that's if you already have a laptop.)

I had to tune mine three times because Gadget would not tell me flat out that I could not tune the AFR below 13.5 in closed loop (AFR command of 6). Brian finally emailed me and told me it just won't work below 6 or 7. I tried 6 as a lower limit and it seems to be holding up. Go too low and the Toy ECM goes bonkers, but it takes 2 weeks or so of driving to do so, and gives no codes to let you know it's sick. Very confusing, and cost me a lot of gas.

check with servion tuning (serviontuning.com i believe, if not, find him on www.highaltitudeimports.com, under the name servion) and email him. I know hes good at tuning ALOT of programs for cars (subaru, honda, toyota, etc.) so maybe he can do trucks too?

hes located in Colorado springs, and people have flown him to california, nevada and other misc. states/places just to tune their cars. Hes an awesome guy.

Paging Jade ... come in Jade ...I've never had the chance to learn about tuning the 4.0L. I only recall what little I've read about Eric's install. Honestly I thought that the blower for the 4.0L was bolt-on and an ECU flash.....unless you were trying to get rid of the cats or eliminate some of the emissions gear. Truth be told, my truck is the only one that I've ever tuned.......

Gadget was in SoCal for a couple of weeks opening up a URD retail location.

Brian at URD recommended these guys in Boulder to put in my Innovate A/F-R wide band, they are experts with this gauge.

I put the new URD pulley in, what a mean machine!

they have a mustang dyno, and if Jason is still there, he would be the one to do it for you, Jay the owner is pretty damn good at that also. Ck them out. Just tell Jay that Sam sent you

I have a MAF calibrator on the way...still looking for that expert tuner for S/C'd Tacomas...can't believe that in a state where there are a ton of Yota's, finding top tuner is like looking for the tip of a needle in a hayfield.

Come on now, there has to be someone, right?
