I was looking for a bolt on prerunner light bar that does not replace the front bumper. I will just be using it for looks and to hold some lights. I am having a hard time describing what I'm looking for. I have been looking online for one, but cant find anything and don't know a specific company that makes one. If i cant find one, guess ill have to go with a westin safari bar. Please help if you can. Here is a link to one that looks like it but they dont make one for a tacoma like this:

I like that these mount over stock bumper, but they dont make one for an 01 taco. Thanks for any info or help

I put this guard on my 01 prerunner w/2 hella ralleye 4000s. It just bolts right on to the front of the bumper. I soon took off the black plastic bumper valance and customized it to add support tubing welded to the frame and an aluminum skid plate. it looks bitchin...plus its only about 150 bucks. your nearest truck shop should be able to order it.

ok so back on topic, you could probably have some fab guy make you one.
that site you posted, it says 01-04 tacoma for "prerunners"
and that light bar, the first one would work, as it goes thru the plate holes, i just do think it would be very strong.
Donahoe makes one for taco, 300 bucks, no drilling
http://www.superdutyheadquarters.com/drtacobar.htm
Or this ORI one, but you gotta drill up your stock bumper

I'm also looking for an easy install light bar, something similar to what is seen on the AmericanPreRunner pig. Not a fan of the truck, but the bar seems practical and hopefully inexpensive compared to a heavy ARB or AllPro bumber.
Also, is there a carbon fiber hood out there for 05/06 Tacos? Just curious. I figure since so many street racers have them on their cars to reduce weight, will this help and how much difference in weight is there. Less weight = more MPG; however if it causes problems off-roading please let me know. I am by no means an expert

This might be a bit easier for what you are looking for. Two models, one that flips down, one that doesnt. And all it does it mount inside your gutters with an adapter, kinda like a surfboard rack. Flip down one : Flip down light bar (http://www.truckperformance.com/products/searchtype_d/sortorder_/productcategory_Light+Bars+~~+Light+Mounting+Kits/category_Lighting/mode_change/sf1_TOYOTA/sf2_2002/sf4_Vehicle+Specific/sf5_Vehicle+Specific+Light+Bars~mounts/sf3_TACOMA/partnumber_CRR210871%2C+CRR220052/) ... Heres the rest, please dont buy the chrome :p List of light racks (http://www.truckperformance.com/products/searchtype_d/sortorder_ADA/productcategory_Light+Bars+~~+Light+Mounting+Kits/category_Lighting/sf1_TOYOTA/sf2_2002/sf3_TACOMA/sf4_Vehicle+Specific/sf5_Vehicle+Specific+Light+Bars~mounts/sf5_Vehicle+Specific+Light+Bars~mounts/)
Edit my mistake : But these are a viable option, lol

I wonder what one of those flip down light bars look like on a Taco... not what I was originally looking for, but I'll add it to my "long" list of items I want, and can't afford, for my truck.
