As many of yall know I reside in the far NE corner of the state. I made a trip down to Hotsprings last weekend and was able to see alot of the state. Leaving from Jonesboro going south to harrisburg, then west to newport It was apparent how saturated the ground was. From Newport to Conway the low lying ground was flowing with muddy currents of water and debris.

As we started to hit the rolling hills North of littlerock, the state almost looked as though its heartland had been spared, of misfortune. Everything looked well till we verred off of 30 to Hotsprings, when we had to drive through the swath that was left by the previous nights tornados. It was easy to tell that all hell had broke loose as the homes on the hillsides were knocked from their foundations, and had 50yr old trees laid accross what was left of their roofs. Vehicles lined the roadsides as friends, family members, and neighbors were there to lend a helping had to those in need. As we crused through the damaged areas, up the hillsides were trees who have withstood the test of time till that night, now lying crushed, and splintered, after the strong winds took their toll.

A few more miles down the road now we were nearing the superlift park, I took a look around, and noticed nothing, not even a little wind damage. It was amazing that one area could be so ravaged , and another so close seemed as natural as ever. I pray that all those effected by the weather keep safe, and stay strong while faced with what may seem impossible to overcome.

All weekend it was apparent how much rain had fallen as the trails had a constant stream of water flowing down their rock faces. I'm one of the lucky ones, one of the lucky indeed, as I was able to enjoy a weekend getaway while other were picking up what was left of their lives that the storm didnt blow away.

I'm counting my blessings!

Here is a good pic that shows how much water was om the trails.
