Log Coral April 13th

[BOVADS]

so i get a call fri night from justin, asking if i was going wheeling, said he hasnt wheeled in awhile and wanted to go. told him about me and sy's run up log coral and he was all over it. then he shows up in a willy's/buggy thing. thought he might get bored on this trail but he seemed to have alot of fun. hes the only one that used his winch and took a strap (before we got to the rocks!) but he was also doing lines that me or sy wouldnt do much les think about:eek:
first strap hes hung on a huge rock

sy on first ledge, the rocks were ubber slippery, black polished rock, and add a little water and line choice was a little tough

this spot was a little tricky, had to hug the side of tree while getting really tippy dropping down in to washed out area

so we made it to the top, looked at bartlett lake a bit then justin wanted to hit the lake, so me and him plunked down the hil into the wash and started haulin a$$, justin was in the lead, and i was barely in his dust, Robby Gordon would have been proud the way i was sliding that ill handling, under powered rigg down that wash, right up untill... complete loss of steering:eek:
broke the shaft from the colum to the box, snapped off at the factory accordian spot:eek:
so we hose clamped some wrenches to it and limped it all the way back down to the parking spot. it was was an adventure cause it kept coming loose:mad:
well on way back justin provided some more entertainment

Was a good time yesterday. great trail, scenery and peeps. Justin did provide good entertainment for those of us that wanted to keep our doors and driveshafts in tact. I doubt anyone with open diffs does this trail without beatin the crap out of their junk and/or takin the strap numerous times.

BOVADS failed to mention that we all did the "optional" lines and falls as well, Justin was just tryin to hit every rock in the wash. I think he almost did. there might be a couple he missed.

I got some pics I need to get off my camera tonight and I'll post em up.

Believe it or not, when Justin bought it, the willys was completly restored. Shhh, don't tell the orginal owner what it looks like now. :eek: :lmao:

well it seemed to work really well, and i owe him a big thanks for helping get my broke junk out of there:kewl:
this is what broke, its the accordian part of the shaft, snapped off clean, its not much more than sheetmetal:rolleyes:

funny thing after seeing this post i called my gramps up and started talking wheeling. told him my plans for the tacoma. he started to get alarmed that the taco was going to be running 4.88s sometime in the new future. he asked what i was planning on doing for a daily driver. i told him that the taco would fit both requirements. he then told me that the willys could be mine for a very cheap price so long as i graduate from college. i graduate in may :eek:
