I have a 2005 Tacoma Pre-Runner for sale. This truck has been titled in KY but only driven from the dealership to the garage. Why am I selling it? The truck was part of a trade with a Toyota dealership. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the truck (it's brand new). I don't have pics up yet but I should within the next couple of days once I make it back into town. Here are the specifics:

MSRP
2005 Tacoma Pre-Runner ACC CAB 4x2 V6 5 spd Auto..........$19,950
OG <TRD Offroad Package #2>.........................................$4405
C4 <Carpet Floor Mats - 4 piece set>...............................$130
Delivery, Process, & Handling Fee......................................$565
Total............................................. ..............................$25,050

Color: Super White/Gray
Location: Lexington, KY
Delivery: Buyer responsible for all delivery costs. I can work with any shipping company, or if you're within a reasonable distance we can work something out.

Other Notes:

> As mentioned before, the truck has been stored inside in a brand new climate controlled building.

> Owner has title in hand.

> VIN 5TETU62N95Z018744

> PM me with any questions. I'll be happy to give out my cell phone # to anyone serious.

> $23,000 firm

Thanks!

Matt

Wow, you sure think a lot of your new PreRunner. Remember, the moment you drove it off the lot, it's used. There's absolutely no way you're going to get anyone to give you $23k for that truck... You're not even quoting realistic MSRP!

MSRP
2005 Tacoma Pre-Runner ACC CAB 4x2 V6 5 spd Auto..........$19,610
OG <TRD Offroad Package #2>.........................................$4405
C4 <Carpet Floor Mats - 4 piece set>...............................$130
Delivery, Process, & Handling Fee......................................$565
Total............................................. ..............................$24,710

INVOICE
2005 Tacoma Pre-Runner ACC CAB 4x2 V6 5 spd Auto..........$18,035
OG <TRD Offroad Package #2>.........................................$3533
C4 <Carpet Floor Mats - 4 piece set>...............................$80
Delivery, Process, & Handling Fee......................................$0
Total............................................. ..............................$21,648
Minus Drive-off Depretiation (10%)...................................($2165)
Total............................................. ..............................$19483

So really, I'd say that $19k would be a far-better figure.

Yup it lost at least 5k driving it off the lot!

Working in a motorcycle dealership a couple years ago really opened my eyes to depreciation value. This is how our scale went when they rolled off the lot-
CBR 600-1200cc - 1100 minimum
TRX 250 - 600cc - 1900 minimum
CR 80 - 250 - 1000 minimum
CRF 50 - 500 - 2200 minimum! Ouch

All those prices are markdowns AFTER they are sold and taken away from the shop.

Same goes for vehicles.

$25050 is what is says on the sticker. I'd say that's pretty realistic.

And if you don't want it or don't think its a good deal, then don't buy it. Simple as that.

RedOh --

I agree with you 100% that a vehicle loses value just by driving off the lot (I'm in the car business), but the scale you're quoting is for dealer trade-in. There is a significant difference between the trade-in value of a vehicle and the private-party value of a vehicle. Let's take into consideration a *2004* Tacoma Pre-Runner with the same features as the one I'm selling: The KBB value <private party> is $21,395. Keep in mind 1) That's one full model year older, 2) An older bodystyle, 3) Not counting the price increase in MSRP between the 04s and the 05s. (2005 values are not yet available on KBB yet.)

http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kbb.KY;628391;KY067&40503;+p&722;Toyota;2004%20Taco ma&2;TT;D9&&&

There are also other factors to take into consideration. In my area, these trucks are not readily available, and the ones that are on the lot bring MSRP.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to screw anyone on this, I'm just trying to sell a truck that I don't need. That's the least I can take on it, and if no one buys it I'll just keep it around. I'm not making payments or even paying insurance for that matter so it's not that big of a deal to me.

Sorry if I've somehow offended some of you by posting this ad (judging by some of the negative responses), I was just trying to post an ad for a vehicle....???

...and we were just trying to steer you in the right price direction. Seeing as how you are new to the forums, we weren't sure if you knew the going rate for a pickup like that. Just trying to be helpful, maybe in a misleading way.

Some of us are growing tired of your frequent retarded comments.

Get a job.
Buy a truck.
Build it up.
Wheel it (in a responsible manner).

Then start talking shit all over our forum.

And since when has it been cool to list all of your fawking parent's cars in your sig?

Later,
....Mike

Mommy didn't buy him one either. She bought herself one, and dipshit keeps claiming it as his own.

I think a Mod needs to start deleting "05'DCTaco"'s posts, and kick him off the board for good measure too. You see that sig he's got posted now that says "Fuck You All"??? Punk Ass.
