Going out to explore more of the Mojave Preserve/Road in preparation for our Toyota120 Mojave Road trip in September.

Going to be traveling a different section than we did this past Sunday (which was a cool as hell trip!!!!) and am willing to again be your tour guide on a journey the time (that means history!!!).

This trip will probably originate on the I-15 side of the Preserve, and will start by going to the town of Nipton, and then heading up into the New York Mountains from there.

This again, is an all day trip, but absolutely guaranteed to be fun!!!!

Meeting time and place to be determined, and will be posted up in the first post (here).

It would be nice to get more than two (2) trucks out this time, but I'm going regardless. Check out the trip report from this past Sunday's trip!!!

Peace!!!
Robert:xpimp: :xdevil:

EDIT:

Meeting Place: Costco @ Marks St & Sunset Rd. Henderson.

Time: 7:45 am - 8:16 am. Leave at 8:17 am.

Head to Searchlight, NV. Gas up at the Chevron, then head up the Joshua Tree Highway to Nipton, CA.

Stop at Nipton, shop (maps and books on the Mojave Road and the Mojave Preserve can be bought here).

Buy Lottery tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :bhump: :xpimp: :xdevil:

Everybody can use the last restroom that you'll see all day.

Air down, and hit the trail along the Union Pacific RR line, and up Lanfair Valley Road into the New York Mountains.

Explore a few side trips and then make it back to the Mojave Road.

I'm in Bro, same as last run, we will bring lunch & drinks.

Will also bring EXTRA WATER & FUEL just in case anyone runs short.

and the CAMERA........... :D

As far as anyone else wanting to tag along you are welcome to join us. Running this trail is an awesum experience jam packed with old west history and beautiful desert scenery and wildlife ( check out pics from last sunday look for the Big Horn Sheep). Remember this is an all day run, this is the DESERT in August bring plenty of drinking water and sunblock and you will need a Full Tank of Gas. Last Sundays round trip was about 260 miles.

Just my :2cents: :2cents: :2cents:

Unfortunately all day trips on Sundays just aren't really a possibility for us. We have a standing family commitment on Sundays. Although it may be in doubt, Emma and I had a great time at Rocky Gap Road, and really do want to get out with you guys again. I can't remember ever meeting another group where we liked everyone.

Bring the "family commitment" with you. They might have fun too!!

This is an all day run, but, there are points where you can drop out early and head home if you want. :D

But, for maximum fun, you got to hang if you can!! :driving: :driving: :woot: :xpimp: :xdevil:

As for the 5:00 am and already being out there thing, then we should go late Saturday night after work and camp out.

Other wise, there's no way I can get up @ 3:00 am after a 12 or more hour day at work x6.

The time I posted will give us an extra hour, which should be fine.

What time can we be expected back? The wife would like a rough estimate.
Robert may be able to give you a more accurate answer as only knows how far we will go. on the first run it was just me and robert 2 trucks and give easy and have problem push onward hard allday so we did run until dark the hit pavement and got back to town around 10pm.

There are many roads we will cross so there are opportunities to bail out at a time convienent to you. At the begining of the trail in Nipton, CA we will get detailed maps of the area for everyone.

I can't see what you've posted, as it's just a little red x :redx:

But, if it's the Mojave Preserve/Road, then yes.

So check out the first post for meeting place and time(s).:driving: :xpimp: :xdevil:

Right on Josh!! The meeting place and time is in the first post. Look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

For your sticker, PM Carl, he can bring some out with him on Sunday. He's bringing some out for Don already.
Actually, he should just bring a shit load of them, as I'm sure others will want some too.........:2cents: :2cents: :2cents:

I hope the stickers are better than the one Carl gave me. What a PIA! I wound up throwing it away. Maybe I am just an idiot, but it did not work too well.

So not everyone thinks a dumb ass, I peeled off the backing and half the letters stuck to the backing. Then most of what letters where left stuck to the other part. and not my window.

Carl, you better get your $h_t together, slacker!

#57 ·
Well the one I gave had been in my truck for awhile. I will give you one the ones that stayed at the house. Punkass:xsmash: :slap: :buttkick: :flipoff1: :flipoff3: :flipoff2:

As of now, we're still a Sunday morning departure.

If you want to do the camp out, come on our 2nd Annual Toyota120 Mojave Road trip!! September 14th - 16th.

Go here: http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1629

If you haven't registered on Toy120 yet, do so. It's an incredible bunch of folks (just like here), and we have a lot of fun. Next weekend, we're having our Toyota120 Big Bear trip. Still time to sign up to go, but you'd definitely need sliders for that one!!:D
