I'm here! I'm here! Finally I can post on this site. Hey Robert, I think by having this the official thread, you can pull more people onto this site. :D I heard of this site and a couple of the 120 guys are on here, but I never really checked it out. heh heh.

Anyhow, bringing my question from the other forum to here. How deep is the water crossing? Worst case scenario... The water is uber high due to some flash flood or whatever. Can I somehow sneak around to the other side without getting my tires wet? Yes Yes!!! I am a chicken sh!t. If it was local, I wouldn't mind smashing around, but so far from home, I become very hesitant with a lot of things.

#17 ·
Yeah Vinh, there is a water crossing on the last day. You'll have no problems at all!!! I've taken many stock trucks through there over the years, no worries. :p

Woody's problem last year, was that he didn't either hear me or didn't pay attention when I radioed back to let everyone know Not to go fast through the water that day, as the water was deeper that day than usual!! Of course......we all know what happened there!!!

Anyway, don't be afraid Grasshopper..........you'll be just fine!!!!! Besides, your air box is higher than ours anyway!!! :D

#19 ·
Yep!!!!!! :D :wiggle:

#20 ·
what are the trails like out there? I just got into town and just got my doublecab yesterday. really doubt ill get a set of sliders on before then.

#21 ·
Shit....who did you get you truck from???:confused:

Anyway, trails are easy to moderate. You can get by without sliders, but they are an inexpensive thing to protect your truck!! :D:welder:

I have every NVTTORA Easter Mojave trip in the trip reporting forums.......search and check them out!!:p

#23 ·
Huh????!!!!! Not quite sure what you said there, but I think I understand none the least........:confused:

#24 ·
I would love to make this trip, but I am trying to save money so I can go to Sturgis this year! The Mojave road is great trip

#25 ·
Been to Sturgis.......it's overrated......wayyyyy too many damn people!!!!! :p

Can't believe you're still riding that damn bike after the accident!!!!:eek:

People never learn!!

Take your four wheels and be safer!!! Get a little dirt on you!!! :D

#26 ·
Well I have been in car accidents before too, and yet I still drive.

As for Sturgis, I am going so I can say I have been there, done that.

Now back on topic....

Hopefully you are coming, it would be nice to see you as always. :xbeer1::xbeer2:

I'll be at my cabin for Easter, have fun guys

Have fun!! :D

#34 ·
So far, it looks like I'll be going alone!!!!!:p

Need to know who, if anyone......is going to go on this trip!!! We usually have upwards of 20 trucks for this Easter trip, and so far...........

If I don't get seven trucks, I don't need to spend the $$ and time to get the NPS special use permits!!
But need to know about how many trucks soon, so I have time to get through the permiting process and get my permits in time for the trip!!!

#36 ·
Please let me know soon.....and the same for everyone else as well!!! :)
I can't be too much longer waiting to know whether or not to send in for the NPS permit!!!

This is the first Easter trip ever, that we have no one apparently going!!!! :dunno: :dunno: :banghead:

#44 ·
No worries Marc, I'll put you on the list, but let me know if you're getting it off so I have an accurate count please.
Thanks!

Go San Diego State BTW!!!!! Mountain West Conference represented!!!! :D

I don't know whether to go through the permit process or not at this point!!!:confused:

Don't need one for six trucks, but do for seven or more..........

It's getting close to the point of no return of getting it or not.......in time that is.....:p

At that point, I'll cap the run to only the first seven trucks period, can probably squeak seven by........but certainly no more than that, not like the usual 14-20 trucks that usually go on this trip!!!
That's cool though, as that many trucks is a pain in my ass anyway!!! :lmao::rofl:

#43 ·
Thanks for updating the list guys!!! :kewl:

#45 ·
I don't understand the whole Permit thing.

Say 6 trucks leave to head out and we run into 4 trucks we know and we all travel in a caravan for a while. That is not legal without permit?

Park Ranger going to really tell us to break up and not travel together?

If I go, I plan on breaking off the group for a couple of side trips and meeting back up with you guys. Would that mess things up for you Robert?

#46 ·
I'd rather not piss off the rangers!!! We go twice a year, and they know that by now.
When dealing with the Feds, believe me, it's better to be permitted than not!!!
