After I have been running the truck and the engine is up to temp if I turn the truck on ,say to get gas or something really fast, when I turn the truck back on it wont idle and will actually stall if I don't give it any gas. I have found though that if I blip the throttle up to at least 3500rpm it will fix itself and idle. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for the help

No it happens with the ac off. I also recently found if I just hold the idle up to about 2k for 30 seconds it will usually fix itself. It doesn't happen all the time but atleast 1 out of 5 times I am starting with the engine warm

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body yet? Sounds like the IAC might be getting a little gummed up or a passage way.

Winner! It sounds like your IAC (idle air control) valve is getting stuck. Time to clean the throttle body and the IAC thoroughly.

OK.... it appears as if I am having the similar issues with my truck.
Having an automatic trans is a bit different to diagnose in that my lifting of the throttle pedal between shifts doesn't do a thing, just stays where the rpm's were until it shifts. My problem is the constant changing of the rpm's at idle. A quick stab of the pedal will let it come to the actual set idle, but if I don't do that, it will stay over 1000 rpm's. Decelerating is becoming a problem too. Some of you mentioned cleaning the IAC & throttle body.... I just ran a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner through my fuel system... wonder if it could be that? Any thoughts guys? LaytBra's

i have this same problem at the moment. I recently cleaned the IAC, but there is still a problem. What is the best method and when is it time to give up the ghost and get a new one?
