Default 22r charge light

Hey guys I've been having some charging issues with my 85 22r 4runner. When I start my truck up the charge light and the ebrake light comes on. If I wiggle the ebrake handle it just pops the 15amp engine fuse under the dash. When this fuse blows it kills the alternators ability to charge. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with my truck???

Dustin

When the charge light and e-brake like come on at same time and stay on your alternator is going out. You need a new one. Don't know why when you wiggle the e-brake handle the fuse pops. Never done that on mine but know when them two lights come on time to get looking for a new alternator. I did the one from auto zone. Life time replacement.

Check your wiring then cause when them two lights come on together your alternator is going out in some way. Only reason them two come on together is to let you know that your charging system is not working -ie alt is going out.

Have you started the truck and looked to make sure the pulley is moving?
Checked the wires on the back to make sure they are tight? None are frayed? And it does happen, you might have got a bad alt.

you have a loose connection in a wire to alternator or battery or your o2 sensor is shorting out to pop the efi fuse a loose or bad connection is only thing that will turn on the charge light in dash such as a bad ground or loose connection or a bad sensor or switch thats only thing that will cause lights to come on or stay on, on dash

Ok guys I looked around some wires around the ebrake and couldin figure anything out. So I did figure something out though. The lights come on when I start it up and stay on until I touch the throttle then the lights go out and stay off unroll I have to start it up again. I also checked and it is not charging when the dash lights are on. Any ideas??
