Santa coming back to a tacoma?

hey guys, it's been several years since i used to lurk around here. i had a 2001 prerunner, lifted with SAWs etc. I really enjoyed the vehicle.

times have changed some. i have a fast charger that is rwd, but am looking at coming back to a tacoma early model. i live in denver colorado, i am not a 4 wheeler, but don't mind the occasional off roading. i want something reliable as i am not a gear head. i am looking a taco as an everyday driver.

i sold my taco in 2007, 6 years after purchase. i had minimal problems with it. if i look at a 2004ish taco used, can i expect the same reliability for years to come? the newer used tacos are within my price range, but i prefer the older bodystyle.

My understanding is that the older Tacomas are MORE reliable.
