I wouldn't imagine it would make it leak just from the crossmember, but it all started leaking after it was linked, and I hardly drove it. I don't think that is a coincidence. I think more likely the drivetrain wasn't properly supported when they removed the old x-member to put the new one in.

Whether my theory is correct or not, I still don't like the idea of having a welded in crossmember. If it was a bolt in x-member I could go ahead and service the leaks, but as it stands now it's too much of a bitch to work on with that design.

I did a shit load of link suspension research after it was linked (if only I'd done it before....). I know what needs to be done to it to fix this mess, but the only thing I am not sure of is the exact length of the links. I know there is a program that calculates the anti-squat and instant center and all that jazz but math was never my strong point.

So pretty much as it stands now I'm just going to do what I should of done in the first place. I have talked to Jed over at Armorology and he's going to do all the math shit and redo the suspension the right way. Then maybe I can stop fucking with the suspension and move on to making the truck pretty.
