Team trail-gear racing announces entry into mint 400 for first time

TEAM TRAIL-GEAR RACING ANNOUNCES ENTRY INTO MINT 400 FOR FIRST TIME

Fresno, CA – Team Trail-Gear Racing has announced that it will be competing in the General Tire Mint 400 in Nevada for the first time ever. This will be the second race for Team Trail-Gear Racing’s new, independent-front-suspension, LS7 race car, Tweaky. The first was King of the Hammers (KOH) which resulted in a crash at mile marker 53 that caused injuries to both driver and co-driver and damage to the vehicle.

“The Mint 400 is steeped in history and racing it is on my bucket list. If you are a desert racer you need to do this race. This new car is totally worthy of it,” said Matt Messer, driver. “This car is extremely fast in the desert. We have repaired the damage from the KOH crash and I am very excited to get back behind the wheel.”

Team Trail-Gear Racing has selected James Schofield to fill the co-driver seat as regular co-driver Nick Poudrier recovers from his injuries from the KOH crash. “James is a seasoned racer and a great addition to the right-hand seat,” said Messer. “He is a talented driver that I have competed against for years. He’s a racer at heart and up for the challenge.”
