I havent been up to much lately besides wedding planning. Cleaned up my set of IFS front brakes and calipers. I'll probably shoot a coat of paint on them before install.
![]() The TC to the left w/ MC 4.7's has a broken front output which will be replaced with a Marlin 30 spl front and rear outputs. Its pretty clean I just need to clean the stock top shift one a little more. I have a Marlin replacement 23spl 2.28 low gear for the TC on the right that I got last Christmas. I just need some more parts and time to get this thing put together.

Well I picked up my other warranteed tire last week and got it mounted up. I have 2 brand new and 2 tires at about 80-85% on the truck. Im happy with that ...for now
![]() Had a friend cleaning out his garage and foud a box of parts to an 85 runner that he no longer owns. It was a pretty good score: 2 new window regulators, 2 front marker lights, 2 rear tail lights, tan console, a ton of fasteners, 2 complete seat belt assemblies, 2 mirrors and 2 windows. Thanks Joe (whirlybird)! They have a good home now ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At least I have a couple of spares on hand for any future incidents

Messed around on the red truck this weekend for the first time in about a month.
I disassembled the whole dash to clean up wiring and see what the hell was going on with the lack of airflow coming from my vents. This was the passenger side. ![]() Found this in the blower motor assembly ![]() The condenser was jammed almost full as well. Got that mostly cinched back up. Just have to get the bezel around the speedo cluster put back on. Fan blows like a champ now! Finally got a push button switch installed for my horn. The wiring inside the steering column just kept pulling apart and being a pain in the ass. Sealed up the hole in my fuel door from when i trimmed my rear passenger fender. Started to plumb in an inlet hose to the air box. A carbureated one doesnt work BTW. It almost does though. EBC greenstuff 6K pads are on the way along with a new high pressure steering hose. Mine is looking a little brittle. Might as well change it out before it blows. So this is what I came up with for my air box intake tube. I used a 2" PVC street L and the intake tube from a carbed 22R. I had to plug the extra port on the tube and put the 2 tubes together with a bead of silicone. Im letting it cure now and installing after that. ![]() ![]() ![]() My dog Tank decided to hop up into the truck with me after I got finished putting the dash/speedo cluster back in. He loves the Red truck

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to stop last night because I couldnt get that damn outer C-clip back on the Longfield. My thumbs are raw and I need the right tool. No pun intended ![]() I should have everything buttoned up on the driver's side tonight and then I can tear into the passenger side.

Started my disassembly of my spare TC for my crawl box. I needed the rear output cover for a core for my MC 30 spl rear output. I have a new set of 23 spl. Marlin 2.28 Total Spline input gears to get switched out once I get the front of the case separated from the rear half. I have my 30 spline front output ready, just need my MC dual adapter and Davez twin sticks and a little time This is pretty filthy work but its been fun so far.

Finished disassembling my 4.7 transfer case tonight. Glad I decided to do it. Found a little carnage on an internal main shaft bearing retainer. Im glad I have a spare from my other TC.
![]() The next 2 pics are for the fellow TTORA members who want to install 4.7s in their TC. They show the amount of grinding needed to clearance for the bottom gear in the reduction box. These are about the best pics I have but can get my actual camera out and take some if needed for anybody that wants them. ![]() ![]() Should have everything lined up for the reinstall in a week or so.

Rear disc brake conversion
I picked up the Golden State Motorsports Rear disc conversion that I found on Pirate. I got the kit with the Brackets and conversion fittings from the Metric 10 Toyota thread to the Banjo style needed. The kit uses late model 4RNR rear calipers and rotors along with their bracket kit. Got the backing plates off with the combination of a Grinder and Air cut-off tool. ![]() ![]() ![]() Passenger rear just about done ![]() Otro lau ![]() Brake lines are ran over the top of the leaves and connected to the caliper. got them filled up and bled pretty well. I test fitted one of the new steelies to check for clearance issues with the rear discs. It clears barely so it ought to work. Got them from Summit 15x8 ProComp Rock Crawlers with 2.5 in BS Should be getting them mounted up tomorrow and Friday. I only have 2 jack stands so the spare and 2 rear tires will go on first and then the front 2 will get mounted. ![]() Clearance pic between caliper and wheel ![]() Rear of cab stripped with 2 layers of spray on undercoating/sound deadener ![]()

Got it installed
My rough measurements show about a 1.5 in reduction in throw. From 5.5 to right at 4. The shifter reduced a lot of the slop in the gear pattern and neutral positions. There is one difference I can see from the other installed pics. On my R151 the breather needs to go to the rear and the Marlin lettering goes to the front. Other than that the install went easy. ![]()

New pump is in. Steering cooler is mocked up. Reservoir is placed where it should fit. I had to cut off one of the mounting points for the stock airbox to make it work. Steering box is off. Old steering stabilizer is removed. The mess is made. Got some royal purple max steer on the way from amazon. Just need to pick up my other box in conroe. I need to figure out the low pressure feed line to the pump. Its tight. Other than that i have to finish it up if i wanna wheel.

I figured out a better mounting idea last night with a piece of 1x1 angle iron that will be mounted to the drivers side shock hoop. This added about 2 inches of clearance that was definitely needed. It will be temporarily mounted with a couple of hose clamps and welded on later. I need to take the edges off of the new bracket and throw some paint on it before install. I am waiting on 2 -10 90's to show up so i can start routing hoses.
I also ripped out all the non working AC bullshit since it was in the way. I have one hose left that is being a real bitch to get off at the compressor. I am capping off all of the connections under the hood for when I want to tackle the AC re-install if that ever happens. I started combining/untangling all the random wires and ran them the correct way away from heat sources/moving parts. I added some dielectric grease to every plug around the ignitor, main harness and other engine components. I got the ram mounts welded to the Ballistic 1.25" tie rod clamp so that can be mocked up as well. Got the new steering belt on. I went with one that was an inch shorter than the stock length. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I worked on my steering cooler mount a little before I left on vacation. I used the rubber spacers that came with the cooler, 2 pieces of 1x1 angle iron and 2 tubing clamps off the A/C system that I removed.
![]() ![]() Its a little tight behind the grill but it will work. I need to trim the back side of the grill a little. I had to flip the bracket around that goes from the lower core support to the hood latch. It bought me just enough clearance to mount the cooler. sent from my Galaxy 2 Skyrocket

I had a little issue with my stock airbox and my new PSC reservoir. The resi is taller than expected and had to be mounted lower on the wheel well which was was a tight fit.
Fixed my airbox clearance issue with some LC Engineering bling Pretty solid kit and CARB approved for those who need it. ![]() I also stared at these a while and wished I was at a point where I could install them. I splurged on 1 set of billet seat sliders from Chassis Unlimited. Cody is great guy to deal with over there. ![]() I got the OK for some PRP seats and a 4xInnovations cage due to the fact that my Tacoma is paid off as of this month. Damn I haven't been without a truck payment in a long time.

After messing around with this project for a while, I finally got the hydro assist wrapped up and ready to fill.
Looks kinda tight. ![]() Cooler in place. The bracket for the latch support was flipped around 180 degrees to make a little needed room for the install. ![]() I had to chop out a little of the front core support. I used some 3/8 fuel line to put on the sharp edges and zip tied them down. I also used some scrap hose to keep the cooler lines from getting cut. ![]() Now I just new to fill her up and bleed the system. Hopefully that will go well. sent from my Galaxy 2 Skyrocket

I have been trying to get some productive wrenching done as of late after the worlds longest hydro assist install.
Now on to other business at hand: Install the 23 spline Dual Ultimate Transfer Cases. I have had these put together for a while. The list of goodies include: MC-07 Dual adapter, Longfield Rear output, MC 30 spline front output, MC Total 23 Spline Input, Daves Offroad Twin Sticks, 4xInnovations HD TC mounts and a Sky's Offroad TC Crossmember. ![]() Removed the front driveshaft Removed the TC shifter and block off plate. I painted both TC mounts. Got the TC pulled this morning. ![]() ![]() Drilled a whole in the crossmember in order to drain the crawlbox through the adapter.

Had some help show up last night. Patrick (scotia) came by and helped me stab the Duals into position.
It was pretty painless. The front input was aligned correctly and we got it buttoned up. I just required and extra set of hands as usual. The fasteners that came with the x-member were a little troublesome. I got that figured out today. Should have it all buttoned up tonight. Then, I need to add some break in gear oil and install the shifters. ![]() ![]() ![]()
