Default Good towing service

I'm stuck in the galleria with fuel leaking out of my fuel rail. I need to get it back to Pearland.

Anyone have a good wrecker service you can recommend?

So when you go to put your injectors in the fuel rail, make sure to seat them properly so as not to cut the o-rings!

I didn't.

I also didn't install the injectors into the fuel rail before installing the fuel rail. That was the critical mistake. It's a tight fit and I didn't think I could install it with the injectors in place.

I didnt do it in the correct order, but I did lube mine with gas when I put mine in.... no leaks

Hint #1:

Use silicone spray.

just squirt it on the O-ring. It's slippery as fuck and will let you get the O-ring in the rail without even coming close to pinching them.

Don't worry about contamination or anything like that. I do it regularly and have never seen it cause any sort of problem whatsoever. I don't even pretend to try to keep it out of the inside of the injector.

Hint #2:

When an O-ring goes into it's hole properly, it's smooth and easy.

If it fights you even the tiniest little bit, it's not going in correctly.

Whatever you do, don't force it! That sudden release of tension you felt when it finally went in was the O-ring being sheared off between it's groove and the fuel rail.

Most injectors have locators that keep the wires pointed in a specific direction, but there's almost always a few degrees of rotation available within those locators. Use it! If the injector doesn't want to slip right in after being lubed with silicone, rotate the injector left and right as much as the locator will allow. It's not much rotation, but it's enough to get the O-ring to seat properly in it's grove so it will slip in like it's supposed to.

I used a bit of gasoline to lube them and then rotated them into place. No resistance was met at all.

Yup. Had to clear the P401 by redoing the EGR system. She's back in business now. Running great, got the inspection done this morning.
