If I didn't know you and saw that parked in a handicap spot, I'd be mad as hell.
"What an asshole! There's no fucking way someone w/ a handicap drives THAT! How the fuck would someone who really NEEDS a placard be able to get in it?"

50 mph hell id be cruising the shit out of that runner so what if I can't run 70 I'll just give everyone the bird lol j/k. I mean come on lol I'm all about driving your rig to and from because that's half the fun in my opinion. Plus I also think anyone can take a rig out bash the living piss out of it , roll it , or break it or both and load it up on the trailer and take it home to fix but my hat goes off to the guy that builds his rig well enough to be able to run down the highway (maybe not at 75-80 but screw it lol) take it out do some insane lines and then drive it back home that's just my 2cents on it

that works in theory... but say you have a catastrophic failure on your rig and are 6 hours from home and cant get replacement parts... what then? I sure as hell ain't leaving my $30,000 dollar rig sitting on the side of the road for 3-5 days while I wait on parts.
I like to think my rig is well built and capable, but with that comes the parts that are hard to get. A common failure point is drive shafts. that is a weekend-ender and typically on a custom built rig they are not something you can pick up at the junk yard. while it seems cool to be able to be able to cruise to and from the trail you have to be realistic and prepare for the worst.
You have to decide if you want a trail rig or a street rig, unfortunately you cant have both...

I beg to differ ive always wheeled a rig I can drive on the highway and have had to camp in it or tow it home . Driveshafts spend the coin to have spares . And I have had catastrophic failure and have learned from it. But I've also learned that those hard to get parts sometimes aren't worth it and then again I've seen less get you farther because we all know the greatest stress on everything is are tire sizes. Which btw I love your fj build very clean and very nice but even you said you're still gonna see highway time with it if I remember correctly an I know about preparing for the worst case scenario it's why I have a butt load of spare parts that go with me and the only thing I can't essentially fix on the trail is from my motor to my rear output which does play a part in lines I choose and how I wheel but that doesn't mean i don't give it hell, but I guess it comes down to where u started wheeling at which for me was in southern Colorado/ north western new Mexico where it seems 95% of the people drove their rigs year round unless it was a tube buggy, anyways I'll stop diatribing

For us in south east Texas. We just about have to trailer our rigs to get to any decent wheeling. And me personally I just like the idea of loading my pile back onto the trailer if something fails. And I drove my old Tacoma all over Texas and wheeled some decent trails but got lucky and it never left me stranded

I thought I was going to have to run without a shock, but I just got UPS ship notification this morning. Was supposed to have them before K2, but Poly Performance sent me the wrong shit.

I'll be there Thursday morning.
And I'll be trailering it there, too. :P One blown engine 6 hours from home was enough for me to get a tow rig.
