Idiot Lights!

Started my 2006 4 Runner Sport 4.7 last night and a lot of the idiot lights came on and have not gone off. Check Engine light, VSC Off light, Traction Control light and VSC Traction light. I went to the local auto parts store to get the diagnostics code and they came up with P0712. Did a little research and found that it could be the transmission fluid temp sensor or related to it. Has anyone had any experiance with this issue.

Before I ever had the chance to do anything they all went out after I filled up with gas. As it turns out the gas cap was loose and would not ever get tight. I read a lot of blogs where everyone blames the gas cap. Gas caps are cheaper than temp switches, so I think I will get a new gas cap and wait and see what happens.

Doesn't make much sense, but I replaced the gas cap several months ago and everything has been clear ever sinse.

Most idiot lights are tied to emmissions. If the evap system doesn't seal (gas cap) you will see a lot of lights due to its important role in the emissions system.
