Has anyone found a longer lug stud for the front -- especially if you're using a 1/4" spacer? Damn near every Toy 4x4 since 86 uses the Dorman 610-266 stud; (and now Chevies do, too), there doesn't seem to be an equivalent but longer stud out there.

when I put my 2001 reg cab 16" factory steelies on my 06 dbl cab there was a slight clearance problem on the calipers.

The wheel barely touched the caliper so that it made a very very slight noise in three spots but did not actually impede the rotation of the tire.

I drove it around the block once and it became silent. So it must have made its own clearance.

Default Pro Comp 8179 16x8 fit

You can add Pro Comp 8179 16x8 wheels with 4" backspacing to the list. I just put them on an '01 xtra cab 4x4 3.4liter with 4" lift. Tires are Toyo Open Country A/T 295/75R16. See pictures here:

A Toyota tech at my local dealership mentioned that changing from 17"s to 16"s can cause the fron discs brakes to warp on the 05-06 Tacoma Sports. Has anyone that owns a Sport with 16" wheels experienced this problem?

The list says that the contributor of the info didn't list the Taco info. It fit someone's taco or it wouldn't be in the fit list.
I'll add your combo to the do not fit list.

Please remember that when using the list that you compare apples to apples when looking at the truck specs etc.

I bought them at Summit online for $58.88 each, plus $9.95 shipping, total was $245.47. Discount refused to mount the 285/75/16 on a 16x7 rim, they said it had to be a 16x8, so I went to a Llantera (Mexican tire shop) and they did it for me. Honestly, I think the look good on a 7" rim, its not nearly as bulged as I expected.

Truck is a 2001 ext cab Tacoma, TRD 4x4.

UPDATE: After running this combo for 3 months I am still happy with it. I have noticed some very light rubbing on the frame, as evidenced by small rub marks on the frame, but I have never heard it rub. Also, I lost a bead once, but I was hauling through a sandy wash getting sideways on 13 psi. When I stopped there was sand in the bead allowing it to leak. This might have to do with the 7" wide wheel, but I think I just got a little too crazy for 13psi.

I also found out that one of the wheels came bent from Summit (Discount told me when they tried to balance them). Summit was very cool about it and I wound up keeping the bent wheel for a spare and buying a new one for half price.
Added. Thanks for the info!

Phil, this combo is already covered by:

The '01 XC V6 4WD and the '99 PRE V6 are in the same caliper list...list B.

So you can probably put that on the list. They don't specify year or type though.

Those fit my 1995 tacoma with ground calipers and no spacers. I did have to trim and beat with a hammer though.

There doesn't seem to be many 16x8's that will fit an 02 dubcab TRD. Are there any others?

Does anybody know if these will fit?
SSC style 73
15x7

Can be found at sears autocenters, a very good price for a chrome plated rim, also one of the few 15" chrome rims out there. $112 ea.

They do not list back spacing or lug patterns, I contacted and got nothing in return. But I really like the look of them and the price for a chrome wheel, polished aluminum sucks in MN with all of our salt.

So basically wondering if anyone else has used them or seen them on a tacoma

Will Crager 15x10's with a 3.75" BS Street Lock D's fit? I'll be running a 33x13.50 tire so I may need a spacer to clear the upper balljoint. Whatya say?

It's 15X8 and yes it will fit since it's the same exact rim as a 1069. A 8079 is the same exact thing as a 1079......

I am not scrolling thru all 6 pages to see if these are already on here but, these fit my 05 DC 4x4. They are 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic Locks II with 285/75 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. The wheels fit without any mods. The tires however rubbed like mad at full lock, so I was forced to trim some plastic and they scrubbed the body mount quite a bit so I removed a chunk to clear it.

So in my ignorance, I just ordered/recieved the rock crawler series 97 16x8 for my 07 prerunner. As im sure you all know they dont fit due to caliper clearance. Will 1/4" spacer fix the problem? Ive read the entire thread and i only see assumptions/opinions on this particular problem. First hand experience please? Anyone get the series 97 to fit a 05+ tacoma?

even with a 3" lift up front 285/16's will hit the frame at the front body mount. many folks slice that area off on a angle and weld a plate over the hole left behind.

if you want to see how ad 285's rub just take your truck and get 'er tweaked over some rocks/terrain, etc, and you'll quickly see there's not much room for 285's to articulate and clear everything.

do you have new UCA's?

Will this 16" TRD wheel fit my 99 Tacoma with no issues? Does anyone know the backspacing on this wheel? A friend on here is selling them to me and I'm just curious as to what issues may arise.

Thanks!!

The 2001 Tacoma 2WD V6 DC is in the same caliper list (B) as the 2004 Tacoma 2WD Prerunner V6 XC.

Thanks Juicy.
Thanks Norcal.
So do the Prerunner & 4WD Tacomas have different calipersizes? Sorry if the questions come across stupid...I'm just trying to make sense of all this. I'm wanting to fit 15x8 6-5.5 3-5/16BS Mickey Thompson Black Classic II's but am not too sure if they will fit. I was told the 16'' Wheels will fit but not too sure about the 15's. Can anyone elaborate on this for me? I'm sick of my wheels & tires and want to get the ball rolling.
