Changed my fuel filter today and noticed my steering bushings need to be replaced. I thought I read on a thread about having to modify the bushing insert. Myabe some of you guys have done this and can give some advice on install.
Depends on the part # you get, i know there are two different ones.
I had to grind down all the rubber off the old metal sleeve for the main stud on mine, then slide the OE sleeve into the aftermarket bushing. Works great, just a little time consuming.
you don't have to modify anything. Once you get the center bushing out (OE) just burn the rubber off of the sleeve and then use that metal sleeve in the new poly bushing. Don't have to mess with the sleeves that don't fit.
my kit from ES came with 2 sleaves. I drilled the tighter one out to fit better then stock.
