Well, my truck is finally starting to get some attention again. I picked up some lift spindles yesterday and the truck is currently getting aligned. Holy shit, I didn't realize what an improvement it would make! I'll get some pictures up tonight. My truck is now roughly 5" over per side and with the 4" lift I was able to back all the way off on the torsion bars. The front end is sitting a little high for now, but keep reading...
I also talked to Mikey at Central Coast Prerunners this week and he's going to be doing my bedcage for me. Going to be running 16" Fox 2.5's, pulling 18" of travel and keeping the stock gas tank location. I'll still be able to fit my bike in the bed as well. Hopefully this will be finished in a couple weeks.
And third on my list is the motor swap to a 3.4 V6. I've got everything sitting in my garage except some power steering pump brackets and an electric fan. (anybody have the power steering bracket and tensioner they want to sell me?) Hoping I can get this thing rolling in the next month or two.
Well, truck has been on the backburner for a while now. I moved (again ) and now finally have a garage I can use. Truck is all stripped at the moment, but still at a buddy's house. Going to try and get it moved to my garage this weekend, and then the fun begins.
Cab is removed, so I am going to redo my motor mounts to get the 3.4 as low as can be and a little farther back. May still have to run a cowl on the hood though, this engine's tall! Once I'm done solid-mounting the engine and transmission the cab is going to get thrown back on (sans firewall), and probably be moved a few inches back. Going to get the beast caged, then rebuild the firewall around the motor.
Plans are to use an in-cab swinger setup for the brakes and clutch to make room for shocks on the front. I was going to get the Chaos 6-lug kit, but instead I think I'm going to design the kit myself and do a couple things different. Will still end up being 6-lug, but I'm going to do a J-arm upper and rear mounted lower arm with no subframe.
The rear is going to get back-halfed and linked, but I'm not going to start until the front is finished.

Good idea buddy!! You can save so much money doing it this way . . . as long as you got the time. Let me know when you do this and Ill check over youre design if you want me to. Did you want to make it score legal? Get on a look out for a tundy rear now so youll have it when you link.
I wouldn't both with a tundra rear end, just got a 9in. Also I'd stay away from the J-arm as toyota's have the steering box outside the frame and right in the way, so unless you get a GM box and remount it inside the frame and lower a J-arm would have to have a huge bend in it to clear the steering. Just build some regular a-arms and you'll be good.
Well, I found a good deal on a T100 rear end, so I jumped on it. Then I ended up bringing the whole truck home, lol.
So now I'm seriously considering putting the T100 cab on my frame since I wasn't planning on using the body mounts anyways. Any opinions?
I'll try to get some pics tomorrow too.
As much as I'd like to use the T100 cab, it's a little more messed up than I'd like. The lower left front corner of the cab is about 4" lower than it should be and you can see the body mount coming up through the floor. This threw the door off a little too. It still shuts though. And that's really all that's wrong with the cab. I might try to straighten it (good luck, I know), but chances are I'll just sell the glass and take the cab and frame to the junkyard.
Well, long overdue for an update. Life happened. Got a new job (a couple times), got married, bought a house, etc, etc.
Since I started working on this thing again, here's where I'm at.
Cab got moved back 4". Ordered the new Total Chaos long travel kit that will fit a 2.5" coilover and 2.5" bypass. Did the upgraded 6 lug lift spindles, and King Kong steering. I have a Chevy 350/Turbo 400 that should be getting mounted as soon as I finish getting the kit installed. It will then be getting caged and backhalfed.
Definitely going for slowest build ever, but it is now progressing slowly.
