Default Badlands Run - 24 May?

Some of the Illinois crew and possibly a couple of Iowa guys are looking at going to Badlands on the weekend of 24 May.

Anyone else is welcome to join us. Any of you Indians . . . Indianans . . . Indiana-ites . . . interested?

I'm down for camping and making it a 2-day run on Saturday and Sunday, but the only other guy that's interested so far, only wants to go for Saturday the 24th.

Discuss.

psst:

Hoosiers!

as for the run, I am down a front axle again, I need new seals and possible seal housing for the locker. and my right hub seems to be making some racket, so it might be blown as well. But I will work on the truck and see if I can make it.

Jeep crasher needs to break, I mean break in his new build so this might be a good opportunity for him to do that and if so, I might tag along with him. But I will let him speak for himself.

i'm still broke and not sure what the artinerary is for the weekend. if i'm free and there is a seat available i wouldn't mind running shotgun with someone.

Brian is getting back tonight, i'm sure he will chime in and catch up on everything he's missed.

Its HIGHLY unlikely that I will have my haul rig back in time for this. The guy doing the work doesn't even have the motor out yet, gurrrrrr. I was down there yesterday and will be again today, there better be progress or I'm calling a tow truck and taking it elsewhere...

Sorry to hear that Adam, I hate that frustrated feeling of taking a vehicle in to have repaired and having to sit back and watch it sit "idle" as it be knowing you need it on the road!

Good luck with everything.

well it looks like i might have to convert the truck back to "limo" status for this run. The doggie wants to go, the gf wants to go and you want to go. No worries, it just takes a few bolts and the other back seat will be in place.

well tentativley still in but will have to be an early day. my pride and joy daughter Mike decided she would be born on that day 7 years ago so to celebrate i have 25 rugrats coming over that night to campout in the back 40.
i think i'llneed to be on the road back saturday by 2 or 2:30. If i'm there when tha park is open at 9 i should be broke and back on the trailer by 9:20 to 9:22 at the latest. with any luck i'll at least get it of the trailer in one piece.

I didn't really say anything in Harlan, but I started getting more noise out of the front again. and the locker never did work.

I am afraid I might have messed up the gears with the stronger axle shaft at worst, but kinda hoping it is just another blown hub. Just too scared to check it out. Plus I have about a million and one other projects going on all at the same time right now.

well if you quit breaking it on "the front porch" you might gain some confidence!

You need to remember you always have to save room on the trailer for my truck, so you can't break the Jeep too bad!

you wont break, ive seen you drive, the only way you will break is if you accidently get in a bad situation.

IF I get the chance, I'll check the hub tomorrow. I am already in the middle of ripping out the interior in prep of the seats coming in.

I just have so many things going on. But I am trying to get the truck ready for the run.

and what is that comment suppose to mean? It used to be that everyone expected me to break or worst, now you are saying I dont wheel hard at all? :d

I wonder if that's due to them being "more mature and experienced" to put it nicely!

Well it could if it decided to come uncoiled while driving down the road and it ends up whacking me up side the head! seeing that I will probably not be driving the taco up due to the lovely gas prices!

I never got the cable coiled up enough to duct tape it.

It is not knotted, but it ain't exactly in a neat pretty little coil neither!

FYI: on the 24th of May, Badlands will be open til 9pm (for those with stock exhaust) and 7pm for all others. So if your thinking about putting off those lights you just got til later....do it so you can stay late if you want.

HUH?

...What does exhaust have to do with anything? Is that for noise control? I would think that would pertain more to the Quads and Dirt Bikes, than trucks...

Either way - my exhaust is fine.

surrounding neighbors!

there are some park borders that are right next to some houses and businesses and they don't like hearing "R-A--P-P-P-P-P A R-A--P-P-P-P-P" all night
