Thanks to everyone for coming out. We had a good turnout, total of 11 vehicles - 9 Tacos, 1 Land Cruiser, and a token Jeep.
Weather was good, trails were ok, and carnage was limited. At least when I left for home it was Did anyone try Sidewinder? Post your pics here It was great meeting some of you for the first time. See you at the next event.-Bryan

Good pics. I'll post mine tonight.
Yes there were about 5 trucks that attempted sidewinder, some carnage but I blew a CV and bent a steering rod so we had to turn back. I had a good time, wish we could have finished sidewinder though, looked nice. Thanks Jim for following me home.

Yup good run, glad everyone made it out! Got a little anxious at the end there to have a cold one and go riding, sitting behind the wheel is just a little too constricting for me!!!
Rode the same loop we did in the trucks on my bike in 29 minutes, rode most of sidewinder til we cam a round a corner and saw a 6 foot allmost vertical rock face that looked possible to climb but Jade was a little rusty and did not want to attempt it. If you know anyone who does that real sick kind of stuff I'l lead em out there on my bike. There is way more wheeling at cooral than i thought befor and once the rest of the trails are open it should be great for another run. I'll be out there alot so I will keep you al posted on trail openings Great wheeling and cool pics Mike |

It was great watching Cali..Dog use his new $50k "Mini-Van" to pull Zach's vintage truck out of the mud. Only a moment later to watch Zach launch himself thru the mud hole (this time I'll use 4x4 lo). When I saw his grill coming straight at me, I started looking for 'tenny traction' myself.
That silly junk car dinged me as well. I felt bad (new truck) until I saw that a lot of you guys got wrinkles too. In 10 minutes, we could have Hi-Lifted that junk off the trail. Sidewinder was 'Hard Corps'!! 1noobie (Jessie) was a great trail boss, and got out to spot us. Then we saw grease on this left front wheel, and had to break out the jack and tools. Toyotas are great! They don't break often, and when they do, you can fix 'em with tape and wire. I don't recommend using a tie down strap to hold your steering rack on to the crossmember, but guess what? It worked, and got him home!! Getting back out of Sidewinder was not easy, by any means! After the 2nd time I strapped Matt off of a high center rock, I could smell my clutch! Matt promised to get a lift for his TJ! Backing up that hard corps trail to get him was the scariest thing I have tried in my truck! I want to run Sidewinder again, but will bring more spare sparts. And, in a month or so, I should have my portable winch built. We got about 80+ pics, will try to post 'em soon. Thanks Guys!!!

Just for the record, the minivan only looked new
It was new to me LOL, but used! And yes, it cost $50,000+ new, but someone else took the depreciation I was actually pleased with the stock Land Cruiser. I only got stuck once and Matt strapped me out easily. It was the mud pit before the rock ledge. The traction control on the Cruiser actually works, unlike the crap on the 4runners. Now I need to trim some plastic off my bumpers since I smashed the front so badly Sliders, lift, rear locker, and I'm ready to try Sidewinder too
