Default tube sleeve

Are these tubes sleeved together and if so how long is the inner piece?

Yes, at least 6" with plug welds are the way to go.

So you fill in the holes and weld around the butt joint of the two peices?

This sleeve is about 6" long, I could not go longer with the bends above and below it.

This has a 10" sleeve in it. By plug weld I mean a 3/8 to 1/2" hole drilled in the exterior tube so you can weld to the sleeve in more places than just the splice.
