Are these tubes sleeved together and if so how long is the inner piece?

Yes, at least 6" with plug welds are the way to go.

I think plug weld is the same as a rossette weld.

So you fill in the holes and weld around the butt joint of the two peices?

This sleeve is about 6" long, I could not go longer with the bends above and below it.
![]() This has a 10" sleeve in it. By plug weld I mean a 3/8 to 1/2" hole drilled in the exterior tube so you can weld to the sleeve in more places than just the splice.
