Default Speaker size in 2000 tacoma?

What size speakers do i have in my 2000 extra cab tacoma?

I've spent forever searching, but could not find a credible source tell me the size...

Also, anyone know of places on the web with goo prices on speakers? I was planning on going the ebay route because i believe it to be the cheapest, but these days, some shops online have some VERY competitive prices many times beating those on ebay...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

You should have 6.5" round speakers front and rear. The only problem is the depth of the front speakers kinda screws with your choices.

If you have a Crutchfield catalog laying around it should have the exact numbers in their chart. Their prices are usually higher but you can still go to their website:
http://www.crutchfield.com/

And enter your truck then it'll list everything they carry that'll fit. You can use that to compare to other sites or whatever you want.

He might have 5x7s, but being a 2000 xcab id bet on them being 6.5 rounds. I think the 5x7s werent put in until the 01-04 series with the new door panels.

Might still be worth it to check though, on the xcab the rear speaker covers can just be popped off with a screwdriver but the front it might be better to use a flashlight and try to figure it out through the speaker grill so the panel doesnt have to come off.

I always thought they were 6.75 or 7 inch speakers. You need an adapter to fit the 6.5 speakers otherwise you can only get in half of the screws...

Does no one know for sure what it takes? I am looking to replace the speakers in my Taco, I would like to go with as big of speakers as I can fit in there, even with minor plastic modification.
