Has anyone experienced a lag in acceleration on newer Tacoma's? I have an automatic '08 Tacoma. If I push down lightly on the accelerator, then push it down further, it has a definite lag, then kicks in and the truck surges.

If it's just a little or on hills it's probably just the automatic transmission... (no offense) which is why I prefer manual.

yeah, mine does to. It's only if I accelerate slowly, instead of just jamming the gas. It'll rev up to 2000 rpm while slowly accelerating, then drop into second and actually get going. It's really been an issue when I've been making left turns from a suicide-lane and have oncoming traffic. Given it's been doing this since day 1, I think it's probably "designed" that way, but I'm going to mention it to Toyota next week.
