hey, i went on that run with you up slaughterhouse. i'd like to do a run this weekend (sat or sun, doesn't matter to me (yet)) and i'm more stock than you are! i would like to do sugarloaf (again) as I didn't really do it properly last time. i got lost as all hell, and just ended up driving on a pretty dirt road lol. there was way too much fog - but i've heard that run is beautiful. there's also pennsylvania gulch and switzerland. i've heard those are *tougher*, but very doable. i don't know personally, and i'm not even sure what trail i ran. i think it was sugarloaf only, but even after looking at google earth to try and figure out what i did, i couldn't. i need to get some good gps software or a guide haha. let me know what your plans are. lefthand is usually fun, not sure how the top is tho. sometimes it can get kinda loose, my friend rolled up there.

im up for leading a sunday run. i got straps and tools and am ready for some fun. saterday i gotta work but sunday im up for something. i've done pennsilvania and switzerland both are very easy trails. if you are up for a little bit of a drive theres stuff opening up all over the place. i ran up twin cone and stopped at the big rock pile b/c it was darkand a couldnt see anything! its rated a 5 but if it rains it will be slick and we might not make it to the top.

i think wheeler lake is just about open and a stocker can run that with out issue.
bill moore and red elaphant hill are probally open and free of snow on the bad side of bill moore.

opinions?

im looking for a good challenge and good views but i dont have sliders so i try to avoid trails that ding up the rockers. im running barley any lift and a 33 extreme mts and im a turd so i got the lockas! yea yea!!

I am fine with Sunday. Yea if we get 3 or more people I am up for a 5 rated trail. Extreme if you have run some good trails befor I would prefer you to narrow it down (or choose one) and I can make the calls to the FS or what ever. You might have to lead us to the trail head tho.
Lets try to nail the trail down tonight tho.

Anyone else up for a run with some stockers?

Is Bill Moore open? What forest is it in? Or who do I need to call?

I don't think Bill Moore is on the FS list but I was up near Chinns Lake and there was snow over 90% of the trail.

What about China Wall? Maybe we could get some more people for this?

china wall may be the best option... not sure how stock friendly it is, i've never ran it.

ive heard china wall can be difficult, i was gonna check it out last weekend but never made it over there.

if bill moore or red elephant empire loops isnt on the fs id give them a call.

china wall is open since its under 9000, however it will be a short day if we do that. so wed probally want to run something else in the area like twin cone or something else.

im checking on bill moore right now i know china wall and twin cone will be open, and twin cone we may be able to get above tree level but im not 100% on that

Cool thanks for checking on that. I want to do all of those Clear Creek trails this summer. If we have someone go along and break through the snow we could all make it. It just depends on how much the snow has melted.

so TD doesnt list a number for bill moore and says its open all season. so i think we should be good if we want to do that. i've been over there and if its dry we may be able to get an open open truck up red elephant

so its up to you guys. i'd like to run twin cone and see if we can get to the top then after that head down to chinawall and have some short techincal fun to end the day

Ok lets do Twin Cone and then head to China Wall. I think the snow will stop us on Twin Cone but it is a 7mile trail.

Hey guys, FNG here. I'm game to join in for the Twin Cone run. I have an 09 Tacoma DC TRD with 32" tires; no lift or rocker protection yet. I had planned to go to Sevenmile, but rather than going alone I'd be glad to meet up with you guys!

When/where are you planning to meet?

so would it be better to avoid china wall if we got stockers in the mix? will it just be a pain to navigate?

if so well have to pick another trail after twin cone. ANY ONE FOR SUGGRSTIONS IN THE area

last weekend i made it up to the second rocky challenge on twin cone at about 11500 feet. with very little snow... didnt go farther cause i needed more daylate to navigate.

It depends on what time we're done with Twin Cone, but maybe we could start up Webster Pass on the way back to town? I may just head back to Denver; it all depends on what time we get off of TC.

If you'd like to check out China Wall, feel free; I'll just pass on that part of the trip. Don't change on account of my stocker!

The only reason I wouldn't want to do China Wall is, I haven't ran it and I don't know if we are going with anyone who has. I know people that run it with stockers all the time, it is at the limits of what a stocker can do.
An idea for a trail to run on our way back would be Slaughterhouse. Its fun for stockers and has some challenging parts. I know I would like to run Salughterhouse and try some of the harder lines.

With 7 people on a stocker run at Slaughterhouse we were there for about 4 hours. I like to stop to take pictures so that takes some time. I am sure others would like pictures as well.
