Default Slick Rock

Went to slick rock this past weekend....I would say it is a good trail to get your feet wet on (TACORICAN, this is you..) hehehe..good place to get seat time, pretty easy trail...GREAT scenery..not too long...the actual "Slick RocK" is a fairly steep decent with a ledge at the bottom, but there is a bypass for it if anyone does not have the "Cojónes" to go down it

Lots of places to camp...cool little one lane bridge..the only "real" obstacle was the last hill before the end of the trail..you can take the straight ahead line, which is hard if you are open, there are two ledges right after another, and the silt on the rock keeps you from getting traction, my buddy Saulo in his 03 Grand Cherokee tried that line first, but he is open open and could not make it, so he went left and took the off camber line, climbing a ledge and going up the rock face, I tried climbing the ledges first as well..but just didn't have the traction (even heating up the tires, it just wasn't grabbing), so I went left and took the off camber line as well...then again smooth sailing the rest of the trail....

I will post pics sometime tomorrow...

This is NorCal....

We have MORE SAC rigs then anywhere....from what I have read. And here we have a trip report from a LADY jeeper??? MAJOR props to chick wheelers who post trip reports!

This makes me angry. I have nothing BAD to say about jeeps/or Reebles.....but I have anger for all these SAC/SAS converted Tacomas that don't EVER show up for a wheeling run...they know who they are....

Like The Dick said a few days ago....if you have not wheeled your SAC taco in a year, your rig should be parts for newbies.....IMO...and Red Dog does not count as 'wheeling'.......

I love that trail! One of the best camping spots is towards the highway 4 side of the trail next to the creek. I look forward to the pics!

The kickass camping spot we found was to the right of the last obstacle..before you go up that hill you can go right on a side trail..that takes you back to some slabs..and there is bigger creek there...it is the "perfect" spot to camp..there was a couple and their two kids camping there and they were the only ones..you will see pics of that area..

I've camped there too. I seem to remember squeezing through a bunch of tight turns to get there.

We shouldn't talk about kickass camp spots on the internet, before long they will be trashed up and off-limits.

Slickrock trail sucks. Nobody should go there. As a matter of fact, I think it's closed now. So yeah, go to Hollister instead.

Yeah..you are right MIKE..Hollister and Frank Raines are the best places to go...they have super kickass camping spots with fire pits already there and bathrooms at Hollister (so you can bring your girlfriends who don't know how to cop-a-squat...no one should go to Slick Rock...hehehehehe
